I am using this in our bedroom to counteract the dry heat of a NYC apartment. This is by far the best humidifier I have used: it is easy to fill and you do not have to clean it every week like cheaper humidifiers. I like that you can see what the humidity in the room is and how much the humidifier makes a difference. The only thing I don't like is I need to fill this a couple times of day--even though I keep the bedroom door closed.

Excellent humidifier, attractive. Like choice of cool or warm mist, automatic turn off and temperature reading. Wish you could fill it up from the top without removing tank but love it just the same.

We've been thru a lot of moderately priced units over the years,but here's a case of,"You Get What You Pay For." Paid more for this, but it's EXC. If you have forced hot air (or even "unforced" hot air) heating, get one of these babies for the bedroom.

I purchased this product on recommendation from a relative after he researched humidifiers for an extensive period of time. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I do like the quality of the unit and the number of settings available. Refilling the "tank" is a little awkward because there are always drips when removing the unit from its base, and you have to turn the unit upside down to refill.

Maintenance is quite simple, but frequent. I was quite surprised that my bedroom is as "dry" as it is. The humidifier has made a huge difference--no more nighttime dry eyes, better breathing, and better skin!

Best humidifier I have ever used. Was hesitant about the price, but completely worth every dollar. Super quiet, no white residue. Not difficult to fill the tank, as others have suggested in other reviews. Came fast and very happy with service by Sylvane.

After doing extensive research on humidifiers, I am very glad that I purchased the Air-O-Swiss 7144. I wanted a humidifier for my young children since we often run our heater 24-hours a day and as a result have very dry skin. I also have a newborn that has been having problems with chest congestion and my doctor encouraged me to purchase a humidifier for his room.

I have used the Air-O-Swiss 7144 Humidifier now in both of my boy's rooms as they sleep and they have had no complaints. The humidifier is quiet (except for an occasional water gurgle sound), even on the heat setting the unit does not get too hot to touch and it is programmable. I also like how the spray of the humidifier is pushed up and out of the unit. I do find that there is a little condensation on the top of the unit and on the table where it stands, but it is minor and I just keep a towel handy to occasionally dry it off.

My only complaint about the unit is that it makes a wet and drippy mess when trying to refill. The base of the unit still has water in it when you take out the empty reservoir. The bottom of the water reservoir is wet (really wet) and drips all over the table/furniture and carpet as you carry it to be refilled.

We have tried to keep a towel close but it is tricky to pick up the water reservoir with one hand and then get a towel under it with the other; you still get lots of water on the table and on the electronics/power cable of the unit. We have not had a problem with the humidifier not working because of the water spills, since we are quick to clean it up but it could potentially shorten the life of the unit. Also, I have to refill it once a day, so the added cleaning/drying of the area around the humidifier is an added step.

I am overall very happy with the humidifier. If it were not so expensive we would purchase more, one for each room. Also, I would be interested in purchasing one with a bigger water reservoir so that it doesn't have to be filled daily. Besides that, we are enjoying the benefits of having more moisture in our air, especially for our children.
