The Air-O-Swiss 7144 Digital Ultrasonic Warm & Cool Mist Humidifier releases germ-free moisture in spaces up to 650 square feet. A built-in hygrostat allows you to set your desired humidity level. The Air-O-Swiss 7144 is equipped with Intelligent Temperature Compensation technology, a Hydro Stick, an 8-hour timer, and LCD display. Just add water and this ultrasonic humidifier distributes a micro-fine mist into the air, providing instant relief from the harmful effects of dry air.
Controlled Humidification
During cold winter months the effects of dry air can begin to take a toll on your home and health. A lack of moisture in the air can irritate your allergy and asthma conditions and cause chapped lips, red eyes, and itchy skin. The Air-O-Swiss 7144 Digital Ultrasonic Warm & Cool Mist Humidifier replaces dry room air with comfortably moisturized air.
Using high-frequency vibrations, the Air-O-Swiss AOS 7144 Humidifier releases a micro-fine mist into the air. First, fill the water tank with clean, cold water while the humidifier is unplugged. As the water passes down through the base of the humidifier, it flows through the demineralization cartridge. After mineral deposits are removed, the water evaporates to create a fine mist and is distributed throughout your space.
Advanced Germ Protection
When you have a low humidity problem, the last thing you want to worry about is germ and bacteria buildup in your humidifier. Clean water in your humidifier base equals fresh, germ-free moisture in your space. The Air-O-Swiss 7144 humidifier is specifically designed to keep reservoir water clean for longer periods of time.
Air-O-Swiss ultrasonic humidifiers feature a four-layer defense system that prevents microbial growth in the reservoir and ensures exceptional water quality. At the heart of protection system is the Hydro Stick, which helps to keep the inside of the humidifier cleaner and fresher longer.
Additionally, the Air-O-Swiss 7144 Ultrasonic Warm & Cool Mist Humidifier is equipped with a demineralization cartridge. This cartridge prevents white dust from forming in your humidifier. The demineralization cartridge is housed in plastic that has been treated with Ionic Silver Technology. The ionic silver technology keeps microbes from growing on the surface of the cartridge. The demineralization cartridge should be soaked in water for 24 hours before use and replaced every 2 to three months.

Maximum comfort is at your fingertips with the Air-O-Swiss 7144 Digital Ultrasonic Warm & Cool Mist Humidifier. With a programmable timer, hygrostat, and several mist output options, this home humidifier helps you reach your ideal room humidity with the simple press of a button.
Set and maintain your desired humidity level with the built-in hygrostat and programmable timer. The hygrostat allows you to program your desired humidity level in increments of 5 percent. Once the moisture level reaches the desired setting, the humidifier will automatically shut off.
In addition to allowing you to choose low, medium, or high mist output, the Air-O-Swiss 7144 ultrasonic humidifier offers cool or warm humidification. In warm mist operation, the water in the tank is pre-heated to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. The water takes 10 to 15 minutes to heat up and a warm mist is released into the air at 104 degrees.
Intelligent Operation
For easy operation, the Air-O-Swiss 7144 Ultrasonic Digital Humidifier features automatic and sleep modes. The Air-O-Swiss 7144 humidifier operates for 6 hours in sleep mode, during which a 60% relative humidity is maintained.
In auto mode, the humidifier monitors your room temperature with Intelligent Temperature Compensation technology and automatically adjusts the mist output when conditions change. Using the pre-set humidity level, the humidifier cycles on and off to maintain optimum humidity.

After doing extensive research on humidifiers, I am very glad that I purchased the Air-O-Swiss 7144. I wanted a humidifier for my young children since we often run our heater 24-hours a day and as a result have very dry skin. I also have a newborn that has been having problems with chest congestion and my doctor encouraged me to purchase a humidifier for his room.
I have used the Air-O-Swiss 7144 Humidifier now in both of my boy's rooms as they sleep and they have had no complaints. The humidifier is quiet (except for an occasional water gurgle sound), even on the heat setting the unit does not get too hot to touch and it is programmable. I also like how the spray of the humidifier is pushed up and out of the unit. I do find that there is a little condensation on the top of the unit and on the table where it stands, but it is minor and I just keep a towel handy to occasionally dry it off.
My only complaint about the unit is that it makes a wet and drippy mess when trying to refill. The base of the unit still has water in it when you take out the empty reservoir. The bottom of the water reservoir is wet (really wet) and drips all over the table/furniture and carpet as you carry it to be refilled.
We have tried to keep a towel close but it is tricky to pick up the water reservoir with one hand and then get a towel under it with the other; you still get lots of water on the table and on the electronics/power cable of the unit. We have not had a problem with the humidifier not working because of the water spills, since we are quick to clean it up but it could potentially shorten the life of the unit. Also, I have to refill it once a day, so the added cleaning/drying of the area around the humidifier is an added step.
I am overall very happy with the humidifier. If it were not so expensive we would purchase more, one for each room. Also, I would be interested in purchasing one with a bigger water reservoir so that it doesn't have to be filled daily. Besides that, we are enjoying the benefits of having more moisture in our air, especially for our children.

Approx. 2-3 weeks ago, I purchased the AOS 7144. I used it overnight for about 4-5 nights. I put the heat set on, the continuous use setting, the low mist output setting, and 50% humidity setting. The good news is that the AOS 7144 is very quiet and doesn't have to be cleaned every couple days. The bad news is as follows:
The "warm" mist was not warm but more cool to lukewarm, the mist output was designed to shut off when the room reached the target value, which in my case was 50%. I ended up with cool to lukewarm mist when it put out mist, but when it reached target value it turned into a very expensive heat "blower" with no mist. By no means was my room "toasty" warm as it was when I used the much less expensive Vicks 7145, which gave very warm mist all night and was also very quiet, but does have to be cleaned all the time.
The AOS is now in my closet and for the cool nights I use the Vicks 7145. I will pull out the AOS 7144 this summer for the cool mist, which it should do very well, if not, I will buy a less expensive cool mist humidifier for the summer.
I did not see any benefit or value to me to complain to the company this is how it was designed to work. My mistake.

I am using this in our bedroom to counteract the dry heat of a NYC apartment. This is by far the best humidifier I have used: it is easy to fill and you do not have to clean it every week like cheaper humidifiers. I like that you can see what the humidity in the room is and how much the humidifier makes a difference. The only thing I don't like is I need to fill this a couple times of day--even though I keep the bedroom door closed.

We've been thru a lot of moderately priced units over the years,but here's a case of,"You Get What You Pay For." Paid more for this, but it's EXC. If you have forced hot air (or even "unforced" hot air) heating, get one of these babies for the bedroom.

I purchased this product on recommendation from a relative after he researched humidifiers for an extensive period of time. I'm very pleased with the purchase. I do like the quality of the unit and the number of settings available. Refilling the "tank" is a little awkward because there are always drips when removing the unit from its base, and you have to turn the unit upside down to refill.
Maintenance is quite simple, but frequent. I was quite surprised that my bedroom is as "dry" as it is. The humidifier has made a huge difference--no more nighttime dry eyes, better breathing, and better skin!
