Allergy Relief - Air Purifier
Indoor allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and mold can too often trigger debilitating symptoms like runny noses, watery eyes, coughing, and sneezing. While you might think these allergens will simply settle onto your furniture or floor – to be vacuumed up during your next cleaning round – this is not the case. In actuality, these tiny particles are constantly moving around in the air and being inhaled by everyone in your home. A top-quality air cleaner designed for allergy relief is your best tool for removing these particles. Allergy air purifier models help to clear out allergens to a higher degree than traditional units. This is because anti-allergy units are equipped with a few extra components to aid their filtration. These can include large particle filters, HEPA filters, and ionizers. While no air cleaner will give you 100% allergy-free living, the units listed below can drastically reduce the volume of airborne allergens in your home and greatly improve your symptoms.

Large Particle Filters
Large particle filters, also known as pre-filters, help to trap large particles from incoming air, before they reach the main filters. Pre-filters are beneficial for a few reasons. First, they help to maintain an air cleaner's functionality and efficiency for a longer period of time. Next, they can extend the life of the main filters and help you save money on replacement costs. Thirdly, they give the air a good preliminary cleaning, so that the main filters have a better chance of catching smaller allergen particles.
HEPA Filters
A HEPA filter, or a High Efficiency Particulate Air filter, can remove 99.97% to 99.99% of particles that measure 0.3 microns and larger from the air. Most allergens, including mold spores, pollen, dust, dust mites, and pet dander, measure between 5 and 10 microns. Therefore, a HEPA air purifier is a natural solution for allergy relief. Some HEPA air purifiers can filter even better than HEPA standards. These are known as HyperHEPA air cleaners. The IQAir HealthPro series units use HyperHEPA filtration.
Ionizers
Independent ionizers help to make air cleaner filters more efficient and effective. These systems work by first discharging ions into the air. The ions then attach themselves to dust, pollen, mold, and pet dander particles – thus making them larger and more easily captured by a unit's filter.
