The air cooler also features three fan speeds and thermostatic control between 60 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The ACW500 Series portable ACs are suitable for medium- to large-size areas up to 450 square feet.

Self-Draining System

This American Comfort portable AC features exceptional self-draining capabilities for true “set it and forget it” operation. With the innovative AutoDrain technology, you’ll hardly ever have to empty the drain bucket, making this unit a completely hassle-free alternative to standard portable ACs.

Unlike other portable air conditioners, which require you to drain condensed water by manually emptying a water bucket, the American Comfort ACW500C Portable AC automatically drains water using an atomizer that transforms the water into a fine mist. This mist is released from the unit along with its hot air exhaust. Additionally, for energy-efficient cooling, some of the condensed water is used to keep the portable air conditioner’s internal components cool.

The electronic display window shows the current room temperature while corresponding LED icons accompany each operating mode and programmed setting. In addition to cooling your immediate area, this 13,000-BTU portable air conditioner also helps to control the humidity in your space. When used as a room dehumidifier, the portable AC removes up to 66 pints of excess moisture from the air.

The American Comfort ACW500CH Portable Air Conditioner eliminates large particles visible to the human eye using a pre-filter. This washable air filter traps common airborne allergens such as dust, pet dander, mold spores, and pollen. Additionally, a filter treated with activated carbon helps to remove foul odors.
