The 1770A is rated to remove 135 pints of damaging moisture per day under AHAM conditions (80 degrees F, 60% relative humidity) and covers large homes up to 2,900 square feet. The dehumidifier works with your HVAC system to dehumidify all of your rooms evenly and efficiently, unlike portable dehumidifiers that may cover limited areas. With just one system, you'll keep your home comfortable and protected against damaging mold.

Flexible Installation

The Aprilaire 1770A Dehumidifier installs as part of your central HVAC system and is typically located in your basement or attic. As your system runs, the dehumidifier pulls air in using the return ducts, dehumidifies it, and sends dry air back into your rooms. Two 8-inch duct collars are included for ducting air return and supply. The 1770A can also be used as a standalone dehumidifier to control humidity in a specific area. For example, you might install it in your humid crawl space or musty basement with or without ducting.

You can also configure the dehumidifier to treat your whole home and then switch to spot dehumidification for areas that need extra humidity control, such as your basement. For this application, you'll need to use the basement kit (sold separately).

Easy Humidity Control

Take the guesswork out of controlling your home's humidity. The Aprilaire 1770A automatically maintains your set humidity level in true "set it and forget it" fashion. To set it up, program your desired humidity level using the manual dehumidistat. Periodically, the dehumidifier's humidistat samples the humidity level in your home and adjusts dehumidifying speed to maintain that level. This frees you from the hassle of manually adjusting operation based on your own humidity measurements.
