We moved to another house that had an odor we were unable to get rid of. It smelled liked smoke and was all over the house but worse by the fireplace. We had one small Austin air cleaner that we used in the bedroom so we decided to order a larger one. Problem solved after running cleaner for about a week. Great product.

My department recently moved into a renovated suite of rooms that included new carpeting, which was laid down in every room--from the conference room to the long hallway to every individual's office. While the suite was beautiful in appearance, by my second day in it I began to have discernible symptoms of VOC sensitivity.

I am an allergy sufferer and had a terrible reaction to a chemical I worked with in my first career, so my sensitivity to the new carpet was no great surprise. With no open windows or doors available in the office suite, I knew I had to purchase a high quality air purifier, and fast.

After doing extensive Internet research, I decided upon the Austin HealthMate Plus Jr., which I ordered through Sylvane. Sylvane's Customer Service assistants were very courteous and helpful. The product arrived to my office even faster than I anticipated.

The air purifier is very attractive in appearance and looks great! Even at top speed, it is quieter than most fans I've run. The purifier is lightweight, yet solid. The carpet odor already seems to be not as intense. And given the consistently high ratings given to Austin Air, I trust my lungs to them!

We recently purchased an Austin Air Healthmate Plus Jr. air purifier to help us eliminate residual VOCs from a severe mold problem in our home caused from a plumbing leak in the wall caused by a negligent plumbing contractor. After the disaster restoration team left, and our home was declared "clean from mold spores", I was still having severe asthma problems and multiple chemical sensitives caused by living in our home. We learned through various consultants that the mold had produced quite a quantity of mold VOCs or (MVOCs as they're known), which were still residing in our home on surfaces and in the air. After consulting with "Industrial Hygenists", we were directed to use VOC and HEPA air purifiers in our home. After much on-line research and discussion with the Sylvane customer service representatives, we selected an Austin Air Health mate Plus Jr for our bedroom. It has a pre-filter which captures large particles such as dander and large dust, then a medium particle filter which gets captures mold, pollen and smaller dust, and finally a carbon blend filter which removes many types of VOCs. In addition it has a medical grade HEPA filter which removes smaller particulates such as molds, dust mites, pollen and other allergens which might aggravate my asthma and chemical sensitivities. This unit cleans 700 square feet so our home is cleaned continuously of noxious VOCs and asthma inducing particulates. Thank you to the Customer Service reps at Sylvane for helping us choose the right product and rushing delivery so I could breathe in my home again!

I've ran this purifier for about a month now and notice a lot less dust in my bedroom. As for noise it is acceptable to me. Low is wisper quiet,Med is about like a room fan,High is comparable to a window AC unit but lets face it air makes noise when you move it. Quality seems to be very good. Solid metal construction nothing feels cheapy, time will tell. You can't go wrong with at least assembled in the U.S.A. and the best warranty in the business.

This air purifier seems to be well made. As to the noise I don't think it is overly load on the two lowest settings, the high setting is about as loud as a 5000 btu window ac unit. You must realize that any time you move air it makes some noise . Over all it is a well made solid product and I would recommend it for any one with dust issues. The only negative I see is the price. I'm sure there isn't $100.00 worth of parts in this thing but all the brands I looked at were the same in this respect.

I bought this so that I would not have to dust my glass figurines but I find that I still have to dust them. I think maybe not as often but with something this pricey I was hoping to not have to dust anymore!

I recently purchased an Austin Air Healthmate Plus Junior Air purifier and I love it. It makes the air feel and smell so clean and fresh. Every time I walk into the room, I take a deep breath because it just smells so clean! When we have the money, I’d love to purchase additional Austin air purifiers for all the rooms in our house. As it is now, we have it in the bedroom at night and move it out into the living room during the day. It isn’t too heavy and there haven’t been any issues with moving it around.

I purchased the purifier because I had been having some trouble breathing. It was sometimes hard for me to take a full breath. Since having the air purifier, I have noticed a definite improvement in my symptoms. I also love the fact that this unit helps remove VOCs from the air. We recently got a new couch and it was off-gassing quite a bit. I love knowing that this filter helps remove those harmful chemicals from the air.

As far as the unit itself, it seems to be a very high quality product. The construction is solid and the design is attractive. I got one in sandstone and it blends right in with my décor. It isn’t too loud, which is something I was a little worried about. It’s certainly noticeable on the high setting but not bad at all. At medium or low settings, it’s extremely quiet. We like to use it at night in our bedroom on the high setting because the white noise is soothing and helps everyone sleep better.

Before purchasing the unit, I had read one review somewhere that stated this unit gave off a cardboard smell at first so I was worried about that. I’m glad to report that the only smell I’ve ever noticed was the smell of fresh, clean air! I highly recommend this unit!!

I recently had a flood in my home, which left me with moldy rugs and flooring. I could not enter that area of my home without feeling sick with headaches, a sick stomach and a dry cough. I was really concerned since I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have a high sensitivity to mold and fumes.

I was skeptical about air purifiers, since I had previously owned a Ozone machine, which made me just as sick as the original fumes. I ordered an Austin Healthmate Plus to see if I could get some relief. After using it just 1 day, I couldn't believe the difference.

I'm sitting in that same room at this moment and it feels great. The air feels clean and fresh and there is no over-oxygenated ozone feel. I actually want to stay in the room because I feel so good.

One unexpected result is that my breathing is better than its been in years...I can actually take deep breaths. I wasn't even aware that I was not fully breathing, until I used this machine. I really recommend this particular model. The construction is really solid and the noise, even on a high setting, is negligable. Its also very attractive and simple, it blends in with the room decor.

I think that this air purification is something that my body as well as my room has needed. I'm so happy with my air purifier that I just ordered a second one for my bedroom! Thank you Austin Air!
