The Essick Air 5D6-700 Mini-Console Humidifier, formerly known as a Bemis humidifier, offers precise humidity control for areas up to 1,100 square feet. A variety of automated functions along with an easy-fill water tank and a digital display help to simplify your humidity maintenance and control.
Comfortable, Efficient Humidification
This evaporative cool mist humidifier injects 5 gallons of moisturized air into your environment each day. In the wintertime, this can help reduce the uncomfortable and irritating side effects of dry air such as dry skin, headaches, cracked lips, and dry respiratory passages. The 5D6-700 humidifier can also help maintain and increase the warmth in your home during the colder months. A higher relative humidity can actually make your indoor air feel a few degrees warmer. As a result, you’ll save on energy costs because you won’t have to turn up your central heating system as often.
The Essick Air 5D6-700 features an easy top-fill water tank that holds 3 gallons of water, a 4-speed fan with a quiet nighttime setting, and 2 AHAM-certified wick filters that absorb mineral deposits from the water. These evaporative wicks allow only clean, natural moisture to be blown out into the air. The unit can also accommodate Essick Air’s AirCare two-stage air-cleaning filter, which removes dust, pollen, smoke, and odors from the air, prolonging the life of the wick. This option is beneficial to allergy- and asthma-sufferers.
The compact humidifier also features a digital humidistat for precise humidity control, a reservoir refill indicator, and an automatic shut-off function. These helpful controls are contained in a 17.75-in. x 9.25-in. x 13.75-in. mini-console style unit that fits more flexibly into your space than other residential humidifiers. This is one of the best humidifiers I have ever used! I needed it to get some humidity in my apartment and not only did it work like magic for me, my cats are more relaxed with less static, too. Easy to set up and use, small footprint and quiet all make this a great product!

Easy to assemble, and easy to fill. Works well to 'humidif' our entire 2nd floor (about 1,000 square feet). Both kids significantly healthier (no more runny noses, etc) since we got it. And, my skin is better too.

I bought the Bemis/Essick Air 5D6-700 Mini-Console Humidifier for my little Yorkie who has a collapsing trachea and the hot dry air in my old apartment building was making it hard for him to breathe. I've seen a HUGE improvement in his breathing since I started running the humidifier. I mostly just run it at night or when I'm in my room with him. Only complaint would be is that it is pretty noisy on level 3 or 4, but as I like falling asleep to a fan normally, it doesn't bother me to much. It's when it shuts off and turns back on that it sometimes wakes me up. Other then that, its doing its job nicely. I'm satisfied.

Easy to assemble, easy to fill, easy to clean, adequate water storage, a little difficult to find replacement pads at a reasonable price, but you can. It does not have a water level indicator or low water shut-off to let you know when it needs to be refilled. It has to be partially dissasembled to see water level. It's OK in winter when we filled it every morning, but in moderate weather, it was problematic to keep filled, as it runs when it calls for humidification whether it has water in it or not. I sometimes got a stuffy nose from low humidity and that was the only indication that we had let the water level run too low.
