This unit puts out plenty of moisture and is reasonably quiet. The airflow output is towards the back of the unit and not away from the wall that it would logically be placed near.

This item really works as advertised. I replaced a Vornado unit which had stopped working with the Essick whole house. On low, it is keeping the house at the desired humidity level. I am using approximately 4 gallons per 24 hour period.

I purchased this unit for use in a 750 square foot great room with a steep sloping ceiling having a 34 foot high ridge line. The unit has been functioning in this environment for about two weeks and has significantly reduced the dryness in the room and increased physical comfort (less dryness to the eyes, nose and throat).
It uses about eight gallons of water per 24 hours and shuts off automatically if the reservoir runs dry. It has several fan speeds, but we keep it on the lowest since that is effective. The fan does make some noise even at the lowest speed. At high speed it is really objectionable. The one drawback with the unit is that it discharges the humidified air at an angle toward the back. It is not adjustable, so it can't be placed against a wall where the moist air is blowing up the wall all of the time. Since the back side is also unfinished, it has to be places so that that side is not readily visible. Overall, we are pleased.

I ordered this product two weeks before Christmas expecting to wait forever for it to arrive. It took three days to get here. Its a little loud on the higher setting but otherwise, works like a dream and is really easy to move and fill.

This humidifier really does a great job. It is rather large but the size is noted in the specs. I am very pleased with the moisture output. It does have fan controls. I use the higher settings at night because as you increase the fan the sound increases as well. I would recommend using near a water source with a hose if you can't lift but I fill mine with a gallon size pitcher no problem. This humidifier adds much needed moisture to the air in my home. It helps control allergens and dust also. I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased one unit for myself and one for my daughter. The unit is a bit loud on any setting over 2, so I would recommend more for a hallway adjacent to bedrooms over in the bedroom. The unit quickly adds moisture into the air and is very good at maintaining the desired level you set it to. I am finding that I need to refill the unit often, but this is all relative to how much humidity is in the air of your home. My daughter has barely had to refill hers.
We opted for the additional dust filter because my daughter has severe dust allergies. She noticed a difference from the night she ran it without the filter to the night she ran it with the filter. A definite must if you have allergies.
Overall we are very pleased with this unit and feel the difference over our smaller humidifiers.
