Sharp CV-P12PX Portable Air ConditionerElectronics-giant Sharp has introduced 2 super-quiet yet very powerful models into its series of sleek and attractive portable air conditioners. The new units – the Sharp CV-P12PX and the Sharp CV-P13PX – have loads of impressive features. They are equipped with four operating modes, three fan speeds, automatic draining technology, and advanced airflow louvers, to name a few. However, one quality that makes them stand out from the rest – and not to mention from similar models in their class – is that they are incredibly quiet. We’re talking “library quiet.”

When running on their lowest fan speeds, these units emit sounds that are only slightly louder than a whisper. At 41 decibels and 43 decibels respectively, the CV-P12PX and CV-P13PX can be operated in your bedroom, office, or living room with virtually zero disruption. That’s a long way from many first-generation portable AC models that, when operating, you swear sound like a plane shooting down a runway.

Sharp CV-P13PX Portable Air Conditioner Of course, whisper-quiet operation isn’t the only feature that makes our new Sharp portable air conditioners worthy of a detailed look. Along with automatic drainage, a variety of modes – including a dehumidifier-only mode – and multiple speeds, these new models incorporate Sharp’s proprietary Plasmacluster Ion Technology. This system works to clean your air of impurities and render it fresher and cleaner-smelling throughout the cooling process. Essentially, the Sharp CV-P12PX and CV-P13PX are air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and air filters all rolled into one.

Forecasters say it will be a hot summer. Why not get through it with one of these cutting-edge portable ACs from Sharp?

UPDATE: Sharp air conditioners are no longer available on Sylvane.com. As an alternative, we recommend Whynter portable ACs. They are quiet, eco-friendly, and easy-to-use. Read more about Whynter in our recent blog post.

Hi, I live in a brick appartment with a full west facing Balcony and a large glassed west facing window. I also have 2 kittens and need to keep the apparment cool for them while I’m at work.
Question: what would the daily running cost for keeping the aircon on all day. This is an important consideration on purchaseing this unit.
Please reply as soon as possible.
    Many Thanks

Hi Ashlyn! Great question. There are a lot of factors that contribute to the actual amount that you will spend on electricity each month with a portable air conditioner. These factors include your electricity rate, the size of the room you need to cool, the temperature that would like to maintain, and how often the portable AC would run.
