Product Overview

Reverse osmosis (RO) water filters work by forcing water through a membrane with microscopic holes in it. These holes allow water molecules to pass through to the faucet, keeping out all other impurities and contaminants. In the past, these filtering systems were slow and required the use of water holding tanks to store clean water. These storage tanks were not only bulky, but the stagnant water within often fostered bacteria growth – contaminating the very water that was just cleaned. Additionally, RO membranes have been known to clog over time and lose water filtering capabilities.

BlueAir has addressed the problems of the reverse osmosis systems of the past by developing a direct-flow filter. This system contains an internal pump which provides enough force to quickly filter the water and eliminate the need for a water holding tank. The pump is also used to flush the membrane and clean away the collected impurities. The result is a compact-filter that easily fits under a sink, providing on-demand fresh water.

Before passing through the reverse osmosis filter, water is first sent through a coarse filter as well as a carbon filter to trap large particles and remove any foul odors or taste. Changing the carbon filter, the only maintenance this system will need, also protects the RO membrane and ensures this purifier will operate efficiently for many years.
