Multiple Operating Modes

The Comfort-Aire RAH-183G features several operating modes.

• Cool: Using 17,800 BTUs of cooling power and 3 fan speeds, this Comfort-Aire air conditioner efficiently processes 570 cubic feet of air per minute.
   
• Heat: This model provides an efficient heat pump and also switches to electric heat in temperatures under 40 °F. There is no minimum operating temperature for this mode.
   
• Dry: In Dry mode, this window AC eliminates humidity by removing 208.8 pints of moisture per day.
   
• Fan: Use fan-only operation to prevent room stuffiness in cooler temperatures. This model is equipped with high, medium, and low speed settings as well as an auto fan function that automatically selects a speed based on room temperature.
   
• Auto: When in Auto mode, the Comfort-Aire RAH-183G automatically selects cooling, heating, or fan-only operation based on ambient room temperature.

Energy Efficient Features

The Comfort-Aire RAH-183G’s heat is efficient because it moves heat instead of creating it. In warm weather, the cool indoor coil absorbs heat from your room and moves it outdoors to cool the area. When it’s cold, the heat pump reverses this operation. By lowering the outdoor coil’s temperature below the outdoor temperature, the heat pump absorbs the heat from outdoors and moves it inside your house.

The heat pump works in temperatures above approximately 40 degrees F. Below 40 degrees F, this model switches automatically from reverse-cycle heat pump to 11,000 BTUs of electric heating power, so there is no minimum operating temperature for Heat mode.

This Comfort-Aire model also features an Energy Saver mode that maintains a reasonable room temperature while you’re at work because it automatically stops the fan and compressor when your optimal temperature is reached. Its Sleep mode reduces energy consumption by slightly increasing the temperature in Cool mode (or decreasing it in Heat mode) while you sleep before returning to the set temperature after 6 hours. A digital remote lets you control the mode, fan speed, and other features conveniently from anywhere in the room.

Window Kit Included

The Comfort-Aire 18,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Heat Pump is equipped with all the tools you need for secure window installation. Its installation kit includes a top-mounting rail, vertical sash seal, accordion panels, and support brackets. It can be mounted in windows between 26 to 38.1 inches wide or through an outside wall.
