Complete Home Comfort System

The design of the Danby DPAC13009 takes the hassle out of keeping your bedroom, office, den, or other medium-size space comfortable. This multi-functional home comfort system includes a cooling mode, a dehumidifying mode, a fan-only mode, and auto mode. The Premiere DPAC13009’s cooling mode provides a 13,000-BTU cooling capacity along with a convenient window installation kit and dual air exchange hoses to ensure that fresh air is drawn into the room and stale air is filtered out. Variable fan speeds and a digital thermostat allow you to program this Danby portable air conditioner to your perfect temperature settings.

The dehumidify mode helps prevent uncomfortable, humid areas within your home or office.  The 54-pint dehumidifier draws humid air into the Premiere DPAC13009, removes the moisture, and disperses clean, dry air throughout your home. (Note: There are no fan speed or temperature adjustments for the dehumidifying mode.)

The Danby DPAC13009 also includes a fan-only mode. This mode allows you to simply circulate air throughout your room or office on comfortable days when no cooling necessary or if the space feels a little stuffy. The fan can be adjusted to circulate air on a high, medium, or low setting.

When running in auto mode, the Danby DPAC13009 will operate according to the ambient temperature, changing the operational type and fan speed accordingly. For example, the air conditioner will operate in cooling mode when temperatures exceed 77 degrees Fahrenheit, and it will operate in dehumidifying mode when temperatures are between 64 degrees Fahrenheit and 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

This portable room air conditioner also features a direct drain option for continuous operation.

Easy-To-Use and Easy-To-Read Control Panel

The user-friendly Danby DPAC13009 control panel uses multi-colored lights and LCD screen to indicate the following settings:

• Cooling Mode
• Dehumidifying Mode
• Fan Mode
• Auto Mode
• Fan Speed
• Water Tank Full
• Filter Cleaning Required
• Internal Wiring Failure

In addition to these settings, the control panel also indicates three other important settings. This portable room air conditioner features an adjustable thermostat that can be used to program your air conditioner to maintain a specific temperature. Temperatures can be displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.

There is also an Auto On/Off Timer, which is not only convenient but also useful for energy savings. For example, if you work a traditional eight-hour day, you can program your Danby DPAC13009 to automatically turn on after eight hours or sooner, if you would like the room to be cool as soon as you get home. Additionally, if you don’t want the hassle of remembering to turn the air conditioner off before you leave the office, you can program it to turn off automatically after a specified number of hours (between one and 24). 

This useful room air conditioner also includes a programmable digital clock.

In addition, the portable air conditioner’s user manual offers energy-saving tips and advice. For example, Danby suggests using drapes, curtains, and shades in conjunction with your air conditioner to prevent direct sunlight from penetrating and heating the room.

This unit definitely cranks out the AC. Very happy with the cooling power of this unit. The only things that are disappointing are that the unit is fairly large and heavy. The pictures dont do it justice as far as size is concerned. When it arrived, I was disappointed. This unit is HEAVY and definitely could use the carrying handles.
