The Venturi Effect

I am sooooooo pleased with this product. I purchased it for a 16X12' shed that we insulated and sheet rocked. Wasn't sure if it would be enough heat since we live in upstate NY. It works terrific. I keep it on the lowest setting. The night before last it was 20 degrees outdoors when I got up. The shed was 50 degrees (on the very lowest setting). It was perfect for my aerobic exercise and I turned it up to get it warmer for my yoga. Last night I put the setting just a little higher on the heater and this a.m. it was 60 degrees. Both nights it was on such a low setting. It would be really, really hot in there if I put the setting up higher. I love it....such a comfortable, relaxing heat. Thank you to the representatives that I spoke to on the phone, you were a big help!

I now own three different models of oil filled radiators, and this one is my favorite. I also have a Delonghi Safe Heat Oil-Filled Radiator with Overheat Audible Alarm which is great, but not as quick to heat up as this one. The heat from this Vento radiates very quickly out the top of the unit. The Safe Heat heater puts a little more heat on the floor, so I am actually glad that I have a couple different models. We use the Safe Heat version in the bedroom because it is very quiet, and heats the floor a little quicker than the Vento. That one also has an audible alarm if it overheats, and automatic tip-over shutoff. Those will be nice safety features while we sleep.
Back to the Vento: The timer feature is great; it allows you to automatically turn the heater on and off as many times as you want, up to every 15 minutes, for a full 24 hours! In the winter I plan to have it turn on early in the morning and heat up the living room while we're still sleeping. This analog timer is MUCH better than a digital timer in my opinion. A digital timer has limitations on how many times you can turn it on and off (usually only once or twice). For now, I just leave all the switches "on" and turn it on and off manually.
I have an older Lakewood digital thermostat radiator also; that one we cannot use in the bedroom because the digital relay system to turn it on and off is very noisy, and keeps us awake. Out of the three, it is also the slowest to heat up but it has lasted me 10 years so far so I can't complain. I feel that all analog controls and relays are much quieter than the digital versions. The digital thermostat is nice in the kitchen to set a minimum, but too noisy in the bedroom. .
The Vento is in the living room, puts out(by far) the quickest and most heat, and fills the room-again, less on the floor but it heats the room quicker. The edges are curved so there is less potential for injury, and it really puts out most of the heat up and into the air--the unit doesn't seem to get quite as hot to the touch. The Vento took about twice as long as the Safe Heat to "burn in", but I just put it on full blast outside for about 4 hours and it was good to go. There is much more metal in this unit to "burn in" so it makes sense...
I highly recommend the Vento heater!!!

This is my second DeLonghi Vento heater. I bought one last fall for my kitchen, then bought a second one for the middle of my small house. I also burn wood and with the wood heat and the 2 heaters, I have not had to turn on my propane furnace at all!!
I live in Michigan and my last (January) electric bill was about $60. more than usual. The propane co. wanted over $200. mo. year around for gas, so $60. a month is wonderful!! I would prefer the cord being in the back though, not the front of the heater. The heat comes out the top of the heater so there is little chance of getting burned by bumping into it. This one also has a timer but I haven't used that yet. Love it! Janet

The electrical cord is way way to short. They want you to use the heater 3ft from any object, And the power cord that comes with it is about 4ft long. The heater works well, but the power cord is just way to short!

Works very well. Heats a very large area and cost less to run than the old gas furnace and the air does not get dry out.
