Firebox Features
The Addison Electric Fireplace also features the patented Dimplex electric flame technology which provides a lifelike flame effect. The electric firebox included with this compact electric fireplace has the option to operate with or without heat, so you can enjoy the flame throughout the year. Plus, this elegant electric fireplace can be installed virtually anywhere because no venting is required and it simply plugs into any standard household electrical outlet.
The Dimplex Addison Fireplace provides on demand, thermostat-controlled supplemental heat for rooms up to 400 square feet and produces 4,915 BTUs of fan-forced heat. This electric firebox comes with an on/off remote control so you can easily enjoy a beautiful fire with the touch of a button.

Electric fireplaces offer a great alternative to traditional, gas, and other fueled fireplaces, because they do not contribute to indoor moisture and ventilation problems or produce harmful emissions. This fireplace is both decorative and functional.
The quality of the materials is top of the line, and the fireplace was very easy to assemble. The only tool you'll need is a screwdriver. (For the 3 frame screws where the glass is inserted.) The box is easily assembled with 16 wing nuts, which you only need to hand tighten. I inadvertantly knocked some of the pieces together during assembly, but the paint job is superior and there was no damage.
I was able to assemble this fireplace myself, but in it's packed form the unit is over 200 pounds. It was packed very well, and it may take longer to unpack the fireplace then to put it together.
I had no idea that electric fireplaces could be so economical to operate. It certainly beats installing a full blown heating system in your basement! It heats up fast, and takes the chill/dampness out of the room.
There are 2 heat settings on the unit, and the option to operate the lights only. My 3 year old has already mastered the remote operation, which is highly convenient.
The surrounding glass and metal frame of the firelpace do not get hot during operation, which alleviated safety concerns. The blower is fairly quiet, and is not distractive.
The flame is real enough, and gives the same sort of ambience an actual fire would. The logs have that orange/ember glow, and there are adjustments for the overall light and flames as well. (You can control the speed of the flames.)
Visitors notice it as soon as they enter the room, and it makes the same statement an actual built in would. I would highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed with your purchase!

I looked and compared fireplaces on every website that exists. I really did my homework! This is my first Dimplex Addison fireplace (I own 2 others) and this is so beautiful! Originally, I was going to order the Essex style but when compared to their other models the difference of an additional $400 does not quantify a slighter larger one (by inches only). This is the perfect fireplace for our large bedroom. The flames are SO REAL, the glowing coals and the shape of the fireplace with curves ad so much interest. it looks like a custom carved mantel. I love the tinted amber glass, mirrored back for reflection and the beautiful light that "highlights" the base of the carvings. It is STUNNING! Sylvane customer service was great and got it to me right away! Do not hesitate for one second...buy it!
