Controlling humidity in confined spaces has never been easier when you use the Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier. This Energy Star dehumidifier removes 70 pints of damaging moisture per day from tight spaces, including crawlspaces, storage areas, attics, and basements. In addition, the CMC100—alternatively known as the Dri-Eaz Model F391—excels in commercial and industrial applications such as marine environments, warehouses, and factories.
The Dri-Eaz CMC100 Dehumidifier is equipped with many automated functionalities that enable true "set it and forget it" operation. First, this Dri-Eaz dehumidifier controls your humidity automatically without user intervention. Using an onboard digital humidistat, the system maintains your set humidity level by cycling on and off periodically. Therefore, there's no need to continually adjust the dehumidifier settings. This is particularly beneficial if the system is installed in hard-to-reach spaces.
In addition, the Dri-Eaz CMC100 automatically pumps out collected water using an internal condensate pump. To set up pump operation, simply attach the 20-foot condensate hose (included with the unit) to the system's drain outlet and route the hose to a nearby drain, well, or other type of water receptacle.
Lastly, the CMC100 features an automatic defrost mode and automatic low temperature protection. In defrost mode, dehumidifier operation stops if frost builds up on the internal condenser or evaporator coils. Once the frost has melted, it will resume normal operation. In low temperature protection mode, the system ceases operation when the temperature falls below freezing. When the temperature rises above freezing, the unit automatically resumes operation. Both modes help protect the CMC100's internal components from damage.
Along with boasting the shortest vertical clearance of any dehumidifier on the market with a built-in condensate pump, the Dri-Eaz CMC100 Compact Dehumidifier features an interchangeable panel design that allows for multiple airflow configurations. This helps you adapt the system for use on shelves, in small storage areas, and in spaces where standard airflow from the front of the system to the back is not possible. Alternative configurations include:

In addition to maintaining the humidity level in your indoor space, the Dri-Eaz CMC100 Dehumidifier helps protect the outdoor environment. This crawlspace dehumidifier is Energy Star-rated for efficient operation. This means that the system uses 10 to 20% less energy than comparable non-Energy Star dehumidifiers to remove the same amount of moisture. The CMC100 also makes use of R-410A refrigerant, an environmentally friendly refrigerant that will not deplete ozone. Moreover, the system consumes only 5.3 Amps of power while dehumidifying your space.

Hi, I just purchased a Dri-Eaz CMC100 crawlspace dehumidifier to fix my problem. I passed several days on internet to find out which dehumidifier would be the best to buy. I found that this model has many important characteristics that others don't have, such as the condensate pump already installed in the unit.
With other manufacturers, this pump is not part of the unit and consumers tend to forget about that, therefore, raising the price of the installation, being more complex and not esthetic. It also has a hygrometer with digytal display and several air passage configurations making it the best choice for every situation. I don't want to influence anybody but I think that if anybody spends as much time as me searching for a product, he should look at all of these important features before making a wise decision.

I bought this unit in September 2009 and placed it into service in my 1400 square ft crawlspace. It worked well for the first ten months. Humidity level went from 68% down to 45% after running for one week. During the summer I noticed the unit was running 24/7. There was a 10% difference in between the actual humidity in the crawl as measured by two hygrometers and the reading on this unit. I called Legend Brands (Dri Eaz) and they had me take it apart and try cleaning it out again. By August 2010 it was running 24x7 and not removing any moisture. My electric bill was up and additional $80 per month. I brought it in to a service center and found out the condenser coil had a crack in it and the refrigerant escaped. They wanted $500 to repair it. Dri Eaz support notified me there was a problem with the sensor in these units that could cause the problems I was having with it running all the time. With some persistence on my part I got them to send me a replacement unit although it took three months of troubleshooting and phone calls to make it happen. They also informed me the replacement unit would have no warranty since I was at the end of the warranty on my original unit.
The replacement unit they sent me did not work on arrival. I started it up inside my house where the humidity level was 44% and the units gauge reported 63%. It turned on and ran for 3 minutes, turned off for three, and then ran again for another three minutes. This cycle continued for 30 minutes until I unplugged it. When I open up the unit I discovered they sent me another refurbished CMC100 because some of the cooling fins were slightly bent.
I haven't only been dissatisfied with the CMC100 itself but also Legend Brand's seemingly nonchalant attitude towards making things right and honoring their warranty. I can not recommend this product to anyone and will avoid purchasing a product manufactured by this company for the rest of my life.

Dri-Eaz CMC100 Crawlspace Dehumidifier:
I had a problem with moisture and bad odor in my crawl space. First I encapsulated the ground and walls of the crawl space with vapor barrier (plastic cover), then sealed all the vents, and then I needed to remove the excess moisture (with dehumidifier). By researching multiple dehumidifiers I find out that Dri-Eaz is the best value in its class. I purchase the open box unit and I added the extended warranty to cover the unit if any issues shall arise in long run. Unit came one week from the order date in good condition with all accessories and a clear manual.
Once we installed the unit, it dried out our crawl space from 72% RH within 24 hours to selected level 45% and so far it is holding the same humidity level at 45%. It also runs quietly that we do not hear the unit in our living space.
It would be nice if the unit came with longer power cord (has only 6') and longer drain hose (only 10"). This resulted in purchasing extra extended cord and addition to drain hose to set up the unit correctly. I had the unit running within forty minutes once I had all parts ready for the installation.
Also on the condensate drain, make sure you do not kink the ends before your dump point. I accidently kinked the drain hose and it leaked water around the main unit. I corrected the issue by adding "J" support to the drain hose. Be sure to rig it well so there is no terminal kink or add "J" support if you have any issues.
I Have the unit only a short while, but so far have no complaints at this point.

Comments about Dri-Eaz CMC100 Crawlspace Dehumidifier:
We had a problem with moisture in our crawl space that was causing our newly-installed hardwood floors to cup. We ensured the integrity of the vapor barrier (ground cover) in the crawl space, sealed all the vents, and installed the dehumidifier. It has been in place for more than six months, has never failed us, and has required no maintenance.
... and our floors are in great shape!

Comments about Dri-Eaz CMC100 Crawlspace Dehumidifier:
Dehumidifier dried out our finished basement once we cranked it to 25%. It runs so quietly that you don't even know it is on. We had to suspend it from the rafters in order to reach a basement sill to pump the water out without additional pumps. A stronger pump would be nice.
Looking to buy a second from my parents.

Comments about Dri-Eaz CMC100 Crawlspace Dehumidifier:
We were in the process of selling our home and the inspector said our humidity level was too high in the crawlspace. After consulting with professionals and looking online, we found the Sylvane dehumidifier to be the best deal and would be easy to install. The order came quickly and was very well packaged. Since we already had an outlet under the house, it was just a matter of setting it in place and plugging it in. The subsequent inspectors were very impressed with the performance and made comments on how the crawlspace was now perfect.

Comments about Dri-Eaz CMC100 Crawlspace Dehumidifier:
I setup drain, power, and hanging shelf to accommodate prior to unit arriving. Am not sure whether on Sylvane site or not, but thought specs showed an 8' power cord and 20' drain hose. It actually has a 6' power cord and 10' drain hose, which resulted in a little more work than anticipated. That aside, unit took less than 30 minutes to install. I turned it on at 7:30 in the evening with RH at 78% inside the crawlspace. Set a target RH of 45%. By next morning at 5:00 am, unit was still running but RH was down to 52%. It reached 45% later in the morning, and I haven't gone back since. Other reviews indicated a bad condensate pump. I needed to go up 2' and over 10'. Pump works fine. Also read that it was noisy. This one is not as noisy as it sounded on the site video, and it cannot be heard from inside house or outside crawlspace. Have only had it a short while, but have absolutely no complaints at this point. Works as advertised.
