Dust Mite Screening Procedure

The Dust Mite Screen Check kit, manufactured by Environmental Diagnostics Laboratory (EDLab), includes all the materials you need to complete a dust mite screening on your indoor surfaces. The kit features Bio-Scan 400 tape, which is used to collect a surface sample from your home. Sampling the air is made simple with step-by-step instructions and a detailed explanation on how to handle the Bio-Scan tape to get the best possible sample.

Once sampling is complete, place the collection tape in the protective plastic case and mail it to EDLab. A pre-addressed envelope is included in the test kit, and lab fees are included in the price. Within 7 to 10 business days, you'll receive the results of your home's comprehensive dust mite screening. Dust mite concentration is measured in micrograms. Depending on your results, you can then take appropriate steps to remove dust mites from your environment.
