Comments about Dyson DC26 Multi-Floor City Canister Vacuum Cleaner:
My friend said Dyson had a bad reputation, but the Miele she recommended was too expensive. I've only used my City Canister a few times, but so far it's everything a great vacuum should be and worth every penny. Lightweight, amazing suction, goes from dense carpet to vinyl floors automatically. Does edges better than any other vacuum. Emptying it is a snap; I was even able to wipe the inside of the dirt collector with a paper towel without making a mess.
The only improvements I would make would be to include an instruction booklet just to point out the different features, even though everything is clearly labeled on the machine.
I can't seem to lock the beater in an upright position, like it shows in the picture. But the Dyson's so well designed, there must be a way to do it, I just haven't figured it out yet.
It even cleans better than my mother's old Mid-Century Modern Hoover; the vacuum that never died. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the Dyson lives as long.
