The Essick Air N37W Window Evaporative Cooler draws in 3,300 cubic feet of air per minute and effectively cools your home with little power consumption and no harm to the environment. While refrigerant air conditioners rely on toxic chemicals as an integral part of the cooling process, evaporative air coolers use natural resources such as water and air to cool your home. Ideal in dry climates, the Essick N37W pulls in hot air, lowers the temperature by up to 30 degrees, and distributes fresh, cool air throughout your home.
Recommended for spaces sized 600 to 800 square feet, this window mount swamp cooler comes fully assembled to make setup a breeze. The Essick Air N37W Evaporative Swamp Cooler features window filler panels, an installation kit, two fan speeds, and built-in leveling legs. Plus, it is equipped with a convertible grille so you can install the unit in vertical or horizontal windows.
In dry, arid climates, evaporative cooling is a more efficient and less expensive solution for cooling your indoor air. When compared to air conditioners, evaporative coolers cost less to operate and install.
Operation Costs
Evaporative coolers not only have a significantly lower purchase price than traditional air conditioning systems, they also help you save on electricity bills. Because this energy-efficient window air cooler uses mainly water and air to cool your home, it consumes less power. Operating expenses are typically 75% less than that of refrigerant air conditioners. Essick swamp coolers are powered by plugs and use 115 volts of electricity.
Installation Costs
Swamp coolers also usually cost 50% to 80% less to install than central air conditioners. The Essick Air N37W Window Evaporative Cooler does not require the wiring and venting associated with installing a central air conditioning unit. A handy installation kit makes setup a breeze. Just mount the swamp cooler in your window using the window filler panels, leveling legs, and window retainers.
Essick Air swamp coolers use a similar method to the natural cooling effect that occurs when you step out of a swimming pool on a hot day. In hot temperatures, water evaporates from your body and takes the heat with it, leaving you with a cool, refreshing feeling. In a similar manner, water evaporates from damp pads inside the evaporative cooler and takes heat from the hot air in your space with it.
Every minute, a powerful blower pulls 3,300 cubic feet of air into the Essick Air N37W swamp cooler through the side vents. The hot, dry air is then brought into contact with two water-saturated pads made from Aspen trees. When the moving air passes through the moist pads, evaporation occurs as the heat from the hot air causes the water molecules to transform into a gas. As the water evaporates from the pads, the gas molecules and heat switch from the higher air temperature to a lower water temperature. The actual temperature instantly drops up to 30 degrees and fresh, cool air is released back into your space through the front air grille.
While traditional air conditioning systems recirculate the same stale air, the Essick Air N37W constantly pushes heat out and dispenses maximum fresh, cool air throughout your space every two to four minutes. In addition, the moist pads act as air filters, driving out dust, pollen, smoke, and odors, providing nonstop relief to allergy-sufferers. In the interior of the swamp cooler, a water pump connects to a delivery tube that constantly moistens the evaporative cooling pads. This is done so that the pads remain damp to continue the evaporative cooling process.
By providing a continual supply of fresh air throughout your home, the Essick Air N37W Swamp Cooler also lowers the effective temperature. This consistent flow of cool air causes a cooling effect by which the constant cool breeze feels 4 to 6 degrees lower than the actual temperature.
