Save money on cooling costs and reduce your power consumption with the Essick Air N50W and RN50W Window Evaporative Coolers. Using a cooling method modeled after nature’s water evaporation process, this residential swamp cooler pulls in 5,000 cubic feet of air per minute and lowers temperatures by up to 30 degrees. The N50W efficiently cools large areas sized up to 1,600 square feet and is available with a remote control (model RN50W).
While refrigerant air conditioners use toxic chemicals to initiate the cooling process, evaporative coolers use only natural resources such as water and air. The Essick Air RN50W evaporative swamp cooler eliminates hot air and regularly releases fresh, cool air throughout your space using only a fourth of the electrical energy required to operate a central air conditioning unit. For optimal performance, use swamp coolers in dry, arid climates.
For easy installation, this fully assembled window air cooler comes with a handy installation kit and window filler panels. The N50W evaporative cooler also includes a convertible grille so it can be installed in horizontal or vertical windows.

Essick Air swamp coolers use a similar method to the natural cooling effect that occurs when you step out of a swimming pool on a hot day. In hot temperatures water evaporates from your body and takes the heat with it, leaving you with a cool, refreshing feeling. In a similar manner, water evaporates from damp pads inside the evaporative cooler and takes heat from the hot air in your space with it.
Every minute, a powerful blower inside the Essick Air N50W swamp cooler draws in 5,000 cubic feet of air through the side vents. The hot, dry air is then brought into contact with two water-saturated pads made from Aspen trees. When the moving air passes through the moist pads, evaporation occurs as the heat from the hot air causes the water molecules to transform into a gas. As the water evaporates from the pads, the gas molecules and heat switch from the higher air temperature to a lower water temperature. The actual temperature instantly drops up to 30 degrees and fresh, cool air is released back into your space through the front air grille.
While traditional air conditioning systems recirculate the same stale air, the Essick Air N50W evaporative air cooler constantly pushes heat out and dispenses maximum fresh, cool air throughout your space every two to four minutes. In addition, the moist pads act as air filters, driving out dust, pollen, smoke, and odors, providing nonstop relief to allergy-sufferers. In the interior of the swamp cooler, a water pump connects to a delivery tube that constantly moistens the evaporative cooling pads. This is done so that the pads remain continue the evaporative cooling process.
By providing a continual supply of fresh air throughout your home, the Essick Air N50W Window Evaporative Swamp Cooler also lowers the effective temperature. This consistent flow of cool air causes a cooling effect by which the constant cool breeze feels 4 to 6 degrees lower than the actual temperature.
In dry, arid climates, evaporative cooling is a more efficient and less expensive solution to cooling your indoor air. When compared to air conditioners, evaporative coolers cost less to operate and install.
Operation Costs
Evaporative coolers not only have a significantly lower purchase price than traditional air conditioning systems, they also help you save on electricity bills. Because this energy-efficient window air cooler uses mainly water and air to cool your home, it consumes less power. Operating expenses are typically 75% less than that of refrigerant air conditioners. Essick swamp coolers are powered by plugs and use 115 volts of electricity.
Installation Costs
Evaporative air coolers also usually cost 50% to 80% less to install than central air conditioners. The Essick Air N50W Window Cooler does not require the wiring and venting associated with installing a central air conditioning unit. A handy installation kit makes setup a breeze. Just mount the swamp cooler in your window using the window filler panels, leveling legs, and window retainers.

Comments about Essick Air N50W and RN50W Window Evaporative Coolers:
First of all, the product was delivered quickly and without any issues. Second, and most important, this swamp cooler rocks! I live in Colorado (which has a great climate for swamp coolers) and it was 99 degrees outside the second day after I installed this swamp cooler. It normally would have been 84-88 degrees in my house, but thanks to this piece of equipment, it was a comfortable 72 degrees and that was on low. It almost gets too cold on high and I don't see the need to use it anytime soon. Overall, it works great and I would recommend it to anyone who lives in the proper climate for one.
