See the new Friedrich C-90B
The Friedrich C-90A Air Cleaner was discontinued in 2005 and has been replaced by the improved Friedrich C-90B
The C-90B unit is identical in every facet except that the fan efficiency has been improved, allowing the unit to cover a slightly larger area more effectively.
Information on the older discontinued C-90A information can be found below for comparison:
• Make your home, store, or office a healthier and more pleasant
place.
• Quickly eliminate tobacco smoke from your home or office.
• Provide relief for allergy and asthma suffering family
members, customers and employees.
• Reduce your cleaning and maintenance costs.
When making your purchase decision, you should know that this electronic
air cleaner received one of the highest Clean Air Delivery Ratings
(CADR) in independent laboratory tests! Best of all, the air purifier
is inexpensive to operate. Unlike more expensive HEPA type air cleaners
which can cost $80-$100 per year in filter replacement costs, the
C-90A filter is reusable and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. What
else would you expect from America's best air conditioning company
but the best air cleaner? |
 |
- Three-speed fan quickly eliminates tobacco smoke and odors, dust,
pollen, and other airborne pollutants creating a healthier, more pleasant
work or business environment for employees and customers
- Perfect for stores, nightclubs, restaurants, gyms, waiting rooms,
hospitals, hotels, employee lounges, and more
- Achieved one of the highest Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADR) in independent
laboratory tests
- Reduces cleaning and maintenance costs
- Uses inexpensive carbon filters

| By using a four-step process to filter the air of particles, odors
and fumes, the Friedrich C90A provides you with fresh, clean air to
breathe and reduces breathing problems for those with allergies and
respiratory sensitivity |
- The PRE-FILTER catches the larger particles as room air is drawn
through the rear grille.
- In the IONIZING SECTION of the ELECTRONIC CELL, billions of
microscopic particles become electrically charged as they pass
through a powerful electric field.
- COLLECTOR PLATES immediately attract these "charged"
particles.
- Finally, an activated CARBON FILTER removes most common odors
and fumes as the "clean air" is circulated back into
the room.

Good For Business!
High performance Electronic Air Cleaners like the C90A provide a healthier
environment for customers and employees by removing both harmful and irritating
particulates from the air. Clean, fresh-smelling air can greatly enhance
the customer experience, contribute to a sense of "wellness"
and create a more pleasant overall experience.
As staying healthy becomes more a part of people's daily lives, it becomes
more important for businesses to provide them with the environment they
seek. Using an electronic air cleaner like the Friedrich C-90A in your
store, restaurant, nightclub, gym, waiting room, hospital or hotel will
help you meet your customers' needs.
An added bonus is that employees with allergies or particulate sensitivity
will find it more pleasant to be at work, and will not have to suffer
through a workday stuffed up and miserable. Happier, healthier employees
can do a better job of serving your all-important customers.
How often should I replace the carbon filter in my air cleaner?
The activated carbon filter must be replaced when it is no longer effective
in eliminating odors. The life of the carbon filter will depend on the
concentration of odors and fumes in the air passing through the air purifier.
Under normal operating conditions, the carbon filter should last from
three to six months. NOTE: the carbon filter must be in place for the
air cleaner to operate.
How quiet is the purifier?
The unit has three fan speeds. Below is a chart that shows decibel (dBA)
readings taken three feet away from some common household sounds.

Does the air cleaner produce any ozone?
As with any electric appliance, the Friedrich Electronic Air cleaner
does produce small amounts of ozone. During a 24 hour test conducted by
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the highest level measured was .033 parts
per million (PPM). By comparison, the maximum allowable indoor concentration
recommended by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), ASHRAE (American
Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) and
UL is .050 PPM. Under normal conditions, ozone is very reactive to most
surfaces and will convert rapidly to oxygen.
How large an area will the unit handle?
The purifier will effectively clean the air in an area up to 480 square
feet.
Will the C90A discolor walls, drapes or furniture?
No, unlike some ionizing filtration systems (negative ion generators)
which discharge elements back into the air, the C-90A is an electrostatic
precipitator which traps all particles on collector plates within the
unit.
How much electricity does the C90A require?
The filter only uses about as much electricity as a household light
bulb, as little as 40 watts on the low fan setting.
How do I clean my unit?
To clean the electronic cell and maintain optimal performance, lift
it out and submerge it in a bathtub or other suitable container with mild
detergent, or simply put it in your automatic dishwasher.
Why is my Air Cleaner making a popping sound?
During initial use, “snapping” sounds may be heard. This
is normal, and the unit may continue to make these noises during the first
few days of operation. After this initial start-up period, only an occasional
“snap” will be heard, indicating the unit is cleaning your
air. Note: As the air cleaner’s electronic cell becomes dirty, it
will “snap” more frequently. When this occurs, you should
wash the cell.
The new and improved Friedrich C-90B unit is now available. This unit is virtually identical to the C-90A but increases the range and clean air delivery rates of the older unit.
