3-Stage Filtration = Outstanding Efficiency
The efficiency of the C-90B comes from the unit’s use of 3 separate filter stages. Air first travels in through a prefilter that captures the largest particles; next, it moves through an electrostatically charged main filter cartridge, and finally through a carbon filter that eliminates gases and odors. The system:
- Has a 3-speed fan to quickly eliminate odors, dust, pollen, tobacco smoke, and other airborne pollutants, creating a healthier environment.
- Uses inexpensive carbon filters for additional odor filtration.
The Friedrich C-90B uses a 4-step process (pictured below) to filter the air particles, odors, and fumes. The filtering process creates fresh, clean air to reduce breathing problems for those with allergies or respiratory sensitivity. The filter works as follows:

- The PRE-FILTER catches the larger particles as air in the room is drawn through the rear grille.
- In the IONIZING SECTION of the ELECTRONIC CELL, billions of microscopic particles become electrically charged as they pass through a powerful electric field.
- COLLECTOR PLATES immediately attract these charged particles.
- Finally, an activated CARBON FILTER removes common odors and fumes as the clean air is circulated back into the room.
