We live aboard a boat (40 foot trawler) in the Pacific NW. Keeps relative humidity around 45% even during our wet winters. Makes a big difference in live aboard comfort. It's small size is perfect for us. I just empty the bucket every other day or so.

The Friedrichs D25ANP Dehumidifier We just bought is working well at lowering the humidity in the master bedroom of our home. The room is about 20 feet by 20 feet square and has a vaulted ceiling.This unit,which we have been using daily for over a week is reducing the ambient humidity level in the room from 70% down to 50% in about two hours. That is with the door to a small bath open,were we shower
The machine is constucted of high quality material and the design is really nice. It has easy to read and understand digital controls on the top of the unit.The removable water container slides easily in and out and is very simple to empty.
We use the dehudifier before bedtime and it is conducive to better sleeping. We do not leave it on thru the night. The 50% level is comfortable for us but the controls go down to 30%
Living on the gulf coast of the U.S. ,we live in a high humidity environment.Friedrichs AC units have been well known here for decades and have proven to be of high quality and durabity. I am confident the Friedrichs de-hudifier will prove to be just as reliable as their AC products.
In the South during the hot summers the air conditiong unit cools AND reduces the humidity. During Mild Winters the need for heating the home is sometimes not necessary BUT the humidity can climb to 70% to 90% on a regular basis.That can be uncomfortable to people used to having lower humidity in there living space. Bringing down the level of humidity whenever we want to is a GOOD thing for easier breathing and a more comfortable indoor environment

The Friedrich D25D Dehumidifier was everything I expected.... many operating options, easy to use/access, quiet and 5 year warranty on the sealed refrigeration system. I've gone thru 3 major brand dehumidifiers, with a 1-2 year warranty and after the warranty expires, the freon leaks. Cost of repair isn't worth it, so I bought this unit with the longer warranty. The only thing that was disappointing: after doing a web search on American made dehumidifiers, the D25D is listed as American made and it is not! Other than that, it's a great product.
