We live about 20 miles from the Canadian border, so the need of air conditioning is not great but when you want/need it, you do. It has been a very warm with high humidity summer especially. I never thought air conditioning was an option for us as we dont have duct work. When we decided to go with the mini-split system, my extensive research showed that Friedrich was both a value and quality unit. It is super quiet, and has a turbo function for quick cool down. The best part for us is we put it in a 1120 sq ft downstairs and it cools beautifully. It is centrally located in an open design and we are so surprised how cool and comfortable it is away from the unit. Easy to program and hopefully as efficient as stated for we have yet to receive a utility bill. The unit itself in unintrusive in your room...looks similiar to a baseboard on the wall. The condensing unit is quiet as well nothing like the roar from central air condenser or thru the window unit. It was very easy to install. My husband ran the lines and electrical and drill the holes for the inside and outside units . With that completed, the professional and he had 2 units up and running in 5 hours. The heating contractor said it was"very" similar to another brand that was super expensive. In fact he believes it may be made by same company. He was very impressed with the value we received. We absolutely love these units and would highly recommend them. Please don't hesitate to make the purchase, you wont be sorry just cooler and more comfortable.
