At 14 in. in height, 19-3/4 in. in width, and 21-3/8 in. in depth, this unit can be installed in windows with a minimum of 22 in. in width (with one side curtain installed). Its maximum coverage area is 650 sq. ft., making this unit perfect for cooling large rooms and offices.

Smart Cooling Technology

As this Friedrich X-Star 11,700-BTU window air conditioner cools, it uses ComfortWatch Technology to maintain a more even room temperature. Using an extremely receptive internal temperature sensor, the unit gauges temperature fluctuations throughout your room. When the sensor detects an area that needs further cooling, the unit automatically kicks into power to blanket the area with just the right amount of coolness. With ComfortWatch Technology, you'll achieve a more comfortable environment, without any less-than-desirable "hot patches."

In addition to the ComfortWatch system, this Friedrich air conditioner uses a Smart Fan Technology to help maintain your comfort level for extended periods of time. When you select the "SF" fan speed, the unit will adjust its speed automatically to maintain your cool environment. This speed is useful if conditions change throughout your room frequently. For instance, if the outside doors of your home are opened or if more people enter your room, the Smart Fan will adjust to operate on a higher speed to compensate for the increased heat load. This prevents you from having to continually adjust the fan speed manually.

In addition, this window AC features a robust, commercial-grade fan that is fully enclosed for better protection. The fan runs on a lower temperature to prevent the unit from overheating and to contribute to a longer life.

The Friedrich X-Star XQ12L10A is also quieter by design. Its internal compressor is anchored by extra-thick rubber grommets to absorb motion and sound. Its protective motor mount features 2 resilient rings to prevent metal-to-metal contact, which eliminates vibration and noise. Its blower wheel housing is made of solid steel for maximum sound reduction. Finally, the heavy-duty side curtains included for unit installation help to reduce to exterior noise.
