The Friedrich YS10M10’s LCD control panel places all of this window AC’s power right at your fingertips. With the creation of the Kühl Series, Friedrich designers wanted to provide users with a wide range of options and features to truly customize their cooling experience. To achieve this goal, the Friedrich YS10M10 includes the following enhancements:

• Push-Button Controls: Easily toggle between Cool, Heat, and Fan-only modes, as well as adjust the fan speed, schedule settings, program the time, and much more with these easy-to-use controls.
• 7-Day Programmable Thermostat: This advanced programmable thermostat can be used to automatically turn the air conditioner on or off and even change modes to maintain temperatures throughout the day.
• Check Filter Indicator: This convenient indicator alerts you when the filter needs to be changed.
• Emergency Heat: Unique to Kühl + air conditioners with heat pumps, this feature brings the temperature of your space up to the setpoint quickly when the Friedrich YS10M10 is first cycled into the heating mode.
• Optional Audible Alerts: Choose whether or not your controls emit a “beep” sound when pressed.
• Temperature Offset: Various factors may cause your Friedrich YS10M10 thermostat to display a temperature different than what is felt. This feature allows you to select an appropriate temperature offset to make the LCD temperature readout as accurate as possible.
• Maintenance Required: When maintenance is necessary, a service icon will appear in the LCD display.
• Panel Lock: The control panel buttons can be locked to prevent inadvertent operation.
• Fahrenheit/Celsius Temperature Display: Accurately show room temperatures in Fahrenheit or Celsius degrees.
• Auto Restart and Memory Backup: In the event that your window air conditioner loses power unexpectedly, your ideal settings are automatically saved and will continue operating as soon as power is restored.
• Low-Battery Indicator: An alert displays in the LCD readout when the battery is low.

In addition to robust control panel offerings, these window air conditioners also provide the option of adding an external thermostat for remote temperature sensing and control. Fully-enclosed fan motors seal out dirt for further enhanced performance and durability.

Maximizing your comfort is at the heart of the YS10M10 design concept. As a result, Friedrich engineers worked hard to create an exceptionally quiet window air conditioner, constructing this Friedrich AC out of multiple sound-absorbing materials. For example, extra thick rubber grommets reduce motion and noise within the air conditioner, while steel inner walls and vibration-dampening insulation block outdoor noise. Rugged side panels further reduce noise and prevent unwanted light from entering your room. In fact, air circulation within the unit was even optimized for quieter operation. Engineers designed this Friedrich Kühl + model to draw air inside through four different vent locations, as opposed to a single point.

Healthy, Energy-Efficient Air Treatment

The Friedrich Kühl + YS10M10 window air conditioner doesn’t just cool your air, it also creates a healthier environment indoors and out. This window AC comes with a washable antimicrobial air filter, which prevents the growth and distribution of harmful bacteria and fungus into your indoor environment. Friedrich YS10M10 owners also have the option of adding a carbon filter to their window AC’s filtration system for even greater air purification, including advanced removal of odors, ozone, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This combination air filtration system provides superior filtration with ratings as high as MERV 6.

To help the environment, this window AC uses eco-friendly R-410A refrigerant and comes in recyclable packaging. For improved energy efficiency, this window AC features an Auto Fan mode, boasts an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 11.7, and comes with factory-programmed energy-saving settings. The YS10M10’s 7,500-BTU heat pump is also 33 percent more energy efficient than electric heaters. For example, if outdoor temperatures are 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the heat pump provides 2.5 watts of heat for every watt of electricity it consumes.

Very COOL and HAPPY

OK...so we enclosed our screened in porch and made it through winter in the south with a small electric heater. But when we hit April and all the windows with afternoon sun, we were getting up to 89 degrees on the porch and we are not NEAR our hot hot weather. I was really hesitant to put an AC that would hang out into our flower beds but decided it was a necessity...I am SO GLAD that we did! It is not an eye sore and it is keeping us at the exact temp I set it for...our remote thermometer reads exactly the temp I have it set to keep automatically, which today was 68 degrees. I don't see a place to add pictures, but would be happy to. It is nice quality- the through-the-wall installation was easy to follow! To me, right now it was worth every penny and Sylvane had great customer service and response to any questions I have had. Oh and I called Friederich today twice during install and top notch customer service! They have a lifetime customer in us!
