  • Product Overview

The Frigidaire FRA054XT7 Window Air Conditioner is a cost-effective and energy-efficient cooling option for small spaces like offices or bedrooms. Using 5,000 BTUs, this Energy Star-rated model is perfect for cooling rooms up to 165 square feet. It also features 3 operating modes, a 10.7 Energy Efficiency Ratio, remote control, and 24-hour programmable timer. Simply set your desired room temperature, and the Frigidaire FRA054XT7 efficiently maintains it with little work from you. This model was also recently named as a Best Buy by a leading consumer reporting agency.

    Multiple Modes

Choose between 3 operating modes, depending on the current weather in your area:

    • Fan: Use this function when cooling isn’t desired and you just need to circulate room air. Choose your fan speed or choose Auto Fan, which selects its own speed based on current room temperature.
    • Energy Saver: The fan will run for 1 minute after the compressor shuts off, and the compressor remains off until the room temperature goes above the set temperature. Once this occurs, the compressor turns back on and starts cooling—this mode reduces energy usage and saves you money.
    • Cool: Up to 5,000 BTUs blast cool air throughout your space. Simply select your desired temperature, and this Frigidaire window AC maintains it.

In addition to multiple modes, the Frigidaire FRA054XT7 offer 3 fan speeds: Hi, Low, and Auto. In Auto speed, the fan starts at High speed and adjusts to a lower speed as the room temperature dictates.

    Energy-Efficient Cooling

Often times energy-efficient ACs can save you money and this model is no exception. An impressive Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 10.7 means it's eco-friendly, while its estimated yearly operating cost is just $37, which is much lower than most window ACs. Its Energy Saver mode is an efficient cooling option that reduces the amount of energy used while cooling. An adjustable thermostat and washable air filter offer additional efficiency. These features helped earn this model an Energy Star rating for efficiency, meaning it's at least 10% more efficient than comparable ACs.

    Additional Features

    • Programmable Timer: Delay the start or stop time for your window AC by setting it to turn on or off up to 24 hours in advance.
    • Directional Air Flow: Manually move your AC's louvers up and down or left to right and direct cool air to a specific location in your room.
    • Automatic Restart: In the case of a power outage, this model turns back on with the previous settings once power is restored.
    • Remote Control: A full-service remote control shows the current temperature, and lets you select a mode, change fan speed, or set a new room temperature.
    • Washable Antibacterial Filter: An air filter traps particles from entering your home and should be checked once a month to see if cleaning is necessary (with warm water).

    Summary

When it comes to adding efficient, convenient cooling, the Energy Star-rated Frigidaire 5000 BTU Window Air Conditioner is one of the best options around.

    What Customers Love

    • Cost-Effective: This model only costs about $37 a year to operate.
    • Set it and Forget it: An adjustable thermostat means you can set your ideal temperature and this model will work to maintain it.
    • Energy Efficient Cooling: An Energy Saver mode, programmable timer, and washable air filter helped this model earn a 10.7 EER.

    Things to Consider

    • Square Footage: While this is a low-cost, eco-friendly window AC, it shouldn’t be used for rooms larger than 165 square feet.

I am a serious home French pastry chef. Five years ago I bought the then-current version of this stove. My main interest was the convection oven. Indeed, this oven is extremely good in even baking. There were many other features I liked, although I found the controls a bit confusing. For guests and first timers, the controls can be VERY confusing. I would still have given it 5 stars. I bought this new version for a different home. There is one change that I find so annoying that I downgraded this new model in my view to 4 stars. This is the temperature readout for the main oven. On most digital readouts, including the earlier version of this stove, you start by setting the target temperature. Then as the oven heats up, it shows the actual temp. This gives you an idea of how much longer you need to wait. If you are cooking something at a non-critical 350 degrees, you might just put it in at 325. Similarly, if you open the oven, say to turn a tray, you know exactly how much the temp has dropped. Not with this new version. You set the target temp, then wait for a long beep to tell you the oven has reached the target temp. There is no way to tell the current temp. While heating up, some lights flash in an incomprehensible sequence. Neither the manual nor Fridigaire customer support could explain what those lights mean. Even with a totally manual oven (like the small side oven here), you can get an idea of current temp by rotating the knob and listening for the thermostat click. Another downgrade was the minimum temp setting on the old oven was 100 degrees, a sometimes useful setting in baking. The minimum on this oven is 150. Finally, this range (with the large oven operating) is significantly noiser than the older version. Creaks and vibration are much more noticeable.

I was forced to buy another freezer when our old Kenmore went out after 14 yrs. We had a full freezer of beef. Where I live, there are not too many options for shopping so I purchased this freezer. I liked that it had the temp outside so I didn't have to mess with a manual dial and put in a thermometer to check the temp. My old freezer had the coils built into each shelf so no need for a fan. This freezer has a light that is very nice to have. After plugging in the new freezer, the fan roar'd really loud, but I figured it would settle down after cooling to the set temp and then would be quiet. It doesn't. It runs probably 80% of the time and now we have to shut the pantry room door to keep the house quiet. The freezer also builds a huge brick of ice on the top middle portion of the door. I have no idea why as the seal is in perfect shape. I will have to call service to come out and fix this as I have to keep wiping it down or it will build up enough the door probably won't shut. It keeps a very constant temp and is easy to get to your items on the shelves. Overall, I give this a 2.5-3.0 on the 5 scale. I'm sure they will fix the seal, but the fan is so loud, I can't overcome that for my score. Freezers should be quiet not loud like a dishwasher.

Comments about Frigidaire 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner - FRA054XT7:

Overall, I love the range. The oven preheats quickly, and water boils super fast. I love the interchangeable griddle grate and built-in oven meat probe. I haven't had the opportunity to use the convection feature yet. What I have a huge problem with is the rubber grate foots melted under the large quick-boil burner. Why on earth was this material chosen if it cant withstand heat? I had to replace 2 grate foots after just a couple of uses of the range. I ordered extra for the future because I know it's going to happen again. For the price of this range, I expected more. Fix this issue and you would have an excellent product and a 100% satisfied customer.

Comments about Frigidaire 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner - FRA054XT7:

We have had many complements on the appearance of the stove. Took a while to get used to the settings and we are still learning about the convection part of the stove. The non mark stainless is perfect on ours. The area above the knobs which is black marks easily and we are wiping it all the time. The oven shelves are great but it doesn't come with a broiler pan so keep your old one of plan on buying a new one. I hooked the stove up myself and was quite simple. My wife likes the way the bottom shelf comes out when you open the oven door.

Glass top not easy to keep looking good - high gloss finish shows streaks. Previous range was gray. Drawer was a problem - no instructions in manual - needed warranty service call. Dual burner is too hot at lowest heat setting - soup boils away. Everything else is very good.

Well I outfitted my kitchen with Gallery Refer, DW, and Range 14 yrs ago and was disappointed that the stove control unit failed and could not be replaced. In order to match the remaining Gallery units I purchased this stove. That being said I do like the new range's fitments and features.

Comments about Frigidaire 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner - FRA054XT7:

I have owned this stove for only about a month, but I am happy with it so far. I had a large double oven stove like this when I was first married, and have wanted one like it ever since. The little oven is a little smaller than the older model, as I cannot get a 10" pie pan is this newer model, but it is great for small casseroles, while still having the big oven to bake in. The metal in the drawer and oven doors is not as sturdy as the older one, so I can't say it's amazing, but it has the features I want: besides the double ovens, the large cook top with space in the middle for a bowl or pot to transfer soup or fill jam jars, etc. It looks very nice even in my little 150 sq.ft. kitchen, and I will really enjoy not having to heat a giant oven in the summer when it's 110 degrees outside. As I said, thank you for making this stove.
