The Holly & Martin™ Savannah Media Console with Electric Fireplace adds instant ambiance and warmth to any space, and it doesn't require an electrician or contractor for installation. This fireplace is ventless and simply plugs into any standard wall outlet (120V). The firebox front measures 23" W x 20" H, and it has a realistic flickering flame effect with long life LED lights. The 1500 watt firebox produces 5000 BTUs of heat, and it is tested to provide supplemental heat to a space of 1500 cubic feet in only 24 minutes while using about the same energy as a coffee maker. The Holly & Martin™ Savannah Fireplace can be operated with or without heat for year-round enjoyment, and the adjustable flame brightness allows you to control the ambiance in your room.

I just got this fireplace and I love it! Very impressed with the realism of the flames and logs.
I bought this for the ambience it gives my living room and not for the heater so can't really comment on how well it will heat a room as I haven't used it for any length of time. However, it's pretty cool to sit in front of the 'fire' and turn the heater on. It runs quietly.
For myself, I have not had problems with the remote as the previous reviewer seems to have had. My couch is a distance away from this fireplace and it works just fine.
Pros: Realistic looking flames and logs. Attractive cabinet. Well built and sturdy. Open shelf is wide enough that it holds both my cable and home theater plus my center speaker.
Cons: The open shelf is only 14" in depth. So make sure you measure the components you plan on using. Mine stick out a bit but doesn't ruin the looks. This is the reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5.
Cannot comment on shipping or assembly as I found this in a little local shop already assembled.

Item Purchased: Southern Enterprises Antebellum Media Electric Fireplace - Antique White
We just put together our "Antebellum" electric fireplace. It was not terribly hard to assemble, the instructions were clear. We did have some problems with the cam locks, they kept breaking on us. I called for replacements and they were shipped to us free of charge quickly.
I like the look of the fireplace and it had exactly what I was looking for, a place for the DVR box, the DVD player and the video player and our TV sits right on top. It also has the two compartments to store DVD's and VHS tapes out of site which I like.
We were also looking for an electric fireplace that would also take the chill off of our living room in the fall and the cold days of winter. The firebox looks pretty real and has the heat and blower to warm the room or you can just have the look of the fire with no heat for atmosphere without the heat running.
I was a little disappointed in the remote, you have to keep pushing the buttons to make it work or you have to get close to the fireplace which negates the reason for having a remote. You have to get off the couch and get closer to make it work and our couch is not that far away from the fireplace. I like this fireplace although it did look a little bit bigger on line. It shipped very quickly and arrived in good shape.
I waited until our first electric bill came before sending this, there was not a big change in our bill which make me very happy.
