OK, well it does take some time for assembly. My head dropped when I seen it was delivered in a mostly flat box with the exception of the fireplace insert. Probably took me approx. an hour to assemble. It is definitely darker than what it appears in the website picture. Looks like a medium oak in the picture, but is more of a darker oak. It is very beautiful when assembled, we've received a lot of compliments on it! This thing kicks out the heat!! I figured we'd be maxing out the heat due to our living room is normally quite cold in the winter, but we have to keep it set on about medium to stop it from getting too warm. I would recommend this item and would recommend buying it from Sylvane!
