Compared with other air machines on the market this unit is quite the workhorse for a fraction of the money you would pay for some of the others. The air is definitely cleaner. When the filter needs changing I would buy the Honeywell HRF-APP1 HEPA filter which will capture some fumes and gases as well.

This Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier has given excellent results twice for our family. Our 10 year old granddaughter's breaths easy, and the air smells clean in her home, after suffering with breathing problems earlier. This year an aunt in her 60,s was hospitalized with breathing problems. We ordered the HEPA filter from Sylvane, it arrived on time. When she came home from the hospital, she feels the air in her home helps her breathing. If you have not been able to get your breath fully, you know that these are no small improvements.
