Allergy-sufferers rejoice! There is now a humidifier that not only provides relief from the effects of uncomfortably dry air, but also helps to reduce common allergy symptoms. The Honeywell QuietCare HCM-6009 Console Humidifier continuously blows out soothing, moisture-balanced air that can relieve the respiratory irritation caused by breathing in too-dry air. At the same time, this whole house humidifier employs unique Air Washing Technology to “wash away” airborne dirt, dust, and pollen particles, which can easily aggravate your allergy symptoms.
The HCM-6009 cool mist humidifier features a Protec Pure Moisture System. This system produces cleaner, fresher moisture using a three-step process. First, an air-washing pre-filter captures dirt, dust, and pollen particles. Next, a Protec Cleaning Cartridge, constructed with patented media that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold, prevents mineral buildup inside the humidifier. Lastly, a Protec antimicrobial-treated wick filter helps prevent the growth and migration of odor-causing mildew, algae, and fungus both on the surface of the filter and inside the unit. The antimicrobial treatment has been proven to elongate the life of the filter so that your humidifier produces cleaner, fresher moisture for longer periods of time.
This Honeywell humidifier is equipped with an Advanced Mist Humidistat that automatically maintains your desired moisture level. Simply set the humidity level to your personal preference, and the unit will cycle on and off continuously to maintain that level and keep you comfortable. The whole house unit also features 3 output speeds. Use the low speed at times when only minimum moisture is needed or for quieter operation while you sleep. The medium speed is best for everyday moisture control. For fast humidification, select the high speed. The humidifier’s manual knob controls help you easily adjust the humidity level and speed. Excellent product, minimal amount of space, mounted on wheels for easy portability, lives up to its name extremely quiet. Easy to operate and maintain, highly recommend it. We are using it in our server room, and since we started using it no more alarms for low humidity or static shock. Filters are easy to change and the filling up of the dual tanks requires very little effort. Plenty of settings and works like a charm.

We are using this humidifier in a warehouse, and it is a great product for our purposes, EXCEPT...like almost every other humidifier I've bought in the past 3 years, it has a round top. It has a 5 gallon capacity a + but it has a rounded top on both water containers - so you end up having to use a HUGE sink to fill it (not a problem in a warehouse) AND you have to stand and support the container while you fill it, because the part you would set it on is rounded, which means unless you are VERY careful and never have accidents the water receptacle is bound to get broken sooner than later.

After using the humidifier for several months, I would have to say I am very happy with the purchase. I can bring my whole downstairs living area from 12% humidity to 40% in less then an hour. The only drawback is the noise at higher fan speeds, so I prefer to leave it on a lower fan speed and leave on all day. The thermostat is perfect for keeping constant humidity levels and the auto shutoff keeps it worry-free if it runs out of water when no one's home. I give the product an A! :)

If you place the humidifier on the lower level of your home, it may be a challenge for humidified air to flow to the upstairs level. As a result, you may get more even coverage with an in-duct humidifier, such as the Honeywell HE220 Whole House Bypass Humidifier, which installs next to your forced-air furnace and humidifies the air as you heat.
