Humidify your home and relieve your allergies with the Honeywell HCM-6011G Humidifier. This cool mist humidifier injects up to 9 gallons of soothing cool moisture per day to cover up to 2,300 square feet. While it humidifies, air-washing technology "washes" away airborne dirt, dust, and pollen particles, giving you cleaner air and relief from your symptoms. An evaporative system helps the Honeywell HCM-6011G automatically regulate the amount of moisture it produces, adding just the right amount for your air temperature. Use this console humidifier in your living room, bedroom, den or any other moisture-sapped area in your home.
The Honeywell HCM-6011G QuietCare Humidifier features a Protec Pure Moisture System to generate fresh moisture and purified air in 3 steps. First, an air-washing pre-filter captures dirt, dust, pollen, and other allergens from incoming air. Next, an antibacterial Protec Cleaning Cartridge inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold and prevents harmful mineral buildup inside the humidifier. Finally, an antimicrobial-treated wick filter helps stop the growth of odor-causing mildew, algae, and fungus on the surface of the filter and inside the unit. All of these features help create healthy moisture while relieving your allergy symptoms.
Take the guesswork out of maintaining your ideal humidity. The Honeywell HCM-6011G uses an Advanced Mist Humidistat that maintains your set humidity level automatically. Once you set the humidity level, the humidifier runs intermittently to maintain that level, saving energy and ensuring your consistent comfort. Use easy manual knob controls to set the humidity and choose a fan speed.

I live in a 2 BR apt with a large cathedral ceiling living room. Small Humidifiers work for the immediate area and in a single room. I wanted something to do the whole apt. With this being made for a whole house I was curious to see how it would work out. Leaving it centrally located, in my living room, I can leave it at the lowest humidity level and the fan on med. and the apt. is perfect. Noticed a difference within an hour of having it on. The vents to the side can be cold if you are seated near it, but it actually works well for me as one side blows down the whole towards one BR and the other goes the opposite direction towards the other BR. I usually dont like machines with filters but this cleans extremely easy. The water tank cannisters are a little awkward due to the rounded top for anesthestics and have to be balanced when filling but they aren't heavy so its ok. I only have to fill the tanks once a day also. as far as noise? I've noticed some vibration noise if one of the tanks or motor housing isnt set on base just right, but a little nudge to bump it into place and its fine. not turning up TV any extra and its quiter than a fan. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this product

Now that the kids are out of the house and it is just the two of us it is a constant battle to keep enough moisture in the air. Without additional help from a humidifier your nose and eyes are constantly dry and your nose will bleed in the winter. There isn't enough showering and humidity generation with just the two of us.
I had one of these and got two seasons out of it before the motor died. It was also a challenge to keep it clean so you don't poison yourself with mold. Constant cleaning and paying attention to the condition of the filter were just facts of life with this machine. It did do a decent job of adding humidity to the house during the winter months. I am now contemplating a built-in humidifier on my furnace v. replacing the one that died prematurely in my humble estimation.
Filling the tanks twice a day and listening to the drone of the motor while trying to watch TV or have a conversation over the motor noise drove me batty at times.

This is a good humidifier but there are a couple of issues. First, filling the water bottles is difficult as the end that should sit on the bottom of the sink is not flat so you have to hold it all the while it's filling.
Second is an annoying vibration that changes as the bottles empty. I cured that by wedging a folded piece of paper between the top of each bottle and the fan housing. It's very quiet now but you really shouldn't have to do that.
Lastly, it's important to follow the initial setup instructions and soak the wick in water before using the humidifier for the first time.

Containers are bulky and hard to fill - can't fit under most faucets.
And why would you design a ROUND top. That is and need to put the cap on. the surface it must stand on after you fill it
Do any of you try to use your own product?
And the cap - good luck getting if off.
AND - while the motor and fan are very quiet, the cheap plastic components resonate against each other causing intermittment loud humming.
Having said all that, it does the job and is the best of the worst out there.
Can't anyone design a decent humidifier?

I keep it in a music studio to keep guitars from cracking in winter when the heat is on. It is very effective at keeping the air sufficiently moist but it is a bit loud and I turn it off when practicing.

Comments about Honeywell HCM-6011G QuietCare 9 Gallon Console Humidifier:
System works great and easily humidifies our entire upstairs (~1000sqft). The only con I have is that even on the lowest fan setting, the machine tends to vibrate/rattle and it can get louder than I had hoped. I can sleep through it but, if it is vibrating before I fall asleep, it is really annoying. I have to put something heavy on the top to stop the plastic from shaking. Other than that, its nice to breathe easier at night!

We used this in the center of our 1700 ranch house. Before using this in the winter our humidity was 20%. After a few days, all rooms tested at 40%. It made a huge difference to the quality of our sleep and we didn't need to use the room size humidifiers in the babies rooms anymore unless they are sick.

Comments about Honeywell HCM-6011G QuietCare 9 Gallon Console Humidifier:
This is the best performing humidifier I've ever used with one exception to my rave review. When filling the tanks you turn the tanks upside down in the sink. Someone decided, in all their wisdom, to have the tank top (now the bottom when sitting upside down) a curved surface so you can not sit the tank down in the sink and let it fill. You must hold the tank as it fills so it doesn't tip over. Didn't they ever real world test this?

I love this product! My skin was so dry and putting lotion on several times a day was not cutting it. Now, I leave the humidifier on while I sleep at night and my skin has never felt better! Not only does it keep my room cool and comfortable but I wake up feeling great.

Comments about Honeywell HCM-6011G QuietCare 9 Gallon Console Humidifier:
It definitely increases the humidity in a large room, but it is very loud. So loud that I stopped using it at night as it disturbs my sleep. I also stopped using it when I'm home watching TV, because its so loud I have to turn the TV volume up so I can hear it. Bottom line, it's too loud for me to use.
Overall I'm very disappointed.
