A leading consumer reporting agency recently named the Honeywell HZ-519 Electric Baseboard Heater a "Best Buy" for comfortably and safely heating your medium- to large-sized rooms. Using convection heating technology, this baseboard heater delivers long-term, whole-room heating (approximately 5,000 BTUs) in large bedrooms, dens, offices, or living areas. The unit's contemporary low-profile design means it won't detract heavily from a room's décor, and its near-silent operation won't disturb your daily activities.
The Honeywell Electric Heater HZ-519 features a SureSet Digital Display. This large LCD display gives you easy access to the heater's settings. Use it to set your desired temperature on the unit's adjustable thermostat and to program timed operation from one to 10 hours with the onboard programmable timer. The timer is a valuable energy-saving and cost-cutting tool because it allows you to program heater operation for only those times when you're using the space and want supplemental heat.
To help you achieve your highest level of comfort at all times, the Honeywell HZ-519 electric heater automatically maintains your desired heat setting. Once you choose a thermostat setting – you can adjust the thermostat in single degrees–the Honeywell HZ-519 will run until the temperature of the room matches that setting. Then, the heater will cycle on and off to maintain that setting. This takes the guesswork out of long-term operation and helps you save further on energy costs.
The Honeywell HZ-519 Digital Low Profile Silent Comfort heater features Safety Matters Technology. It is packed with safety functions that work to give you peace of mind when you operate the unit. These features include:

I feel the heater will save us money as I put it front of our fireplace where we have a lot of heat loss. The heater seems to make the heat more even in the room than it was previously and I have been able to turn our oil furnace thermostat down a bit. As I unplug the unit when it is not in use for safety reasons, every time the unit is plugged in and restarted, it automatically goes to the continuous run feature.
It would be helpful if the directions indicated that the default setting for the unit is continuous run. I had to figure that out myself as it wasn't clear why the continuous run feature was on every time after the heater was unplugged. It would be helpful for the instructions to call attention to the fact that after the unit is unplugged, if the customer wants it to cycle in and out according to the need for more or less heat, then the Temp/Timer button needs to be pressed to change that setting. There is a step missing in the instructions for that.
Overall, my family and I feel that the heater is a good one, worthy of the Honeywell name.

I returned the unit for two reasons. One, the cover of the unit became extremely hot and I felt it would be dangerous if someone brushed against it. Second the thermostat did not register the rooms temperature accurately. The room was 67 degrees. I had to set the unit at 80 degrees so it would remain on long enough to warm the room and then it only went up to 69 degrees.

Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
I'm now having to send back the third heater I've gotten that hasn't worked properly. The first unit worked for awhile but then started to make very loud clicking, buzzing, humming noises coming from the control unit, which I was told it shouldn't do so I sent it back. (this wasn't the noise from the heating element heating up and cooling). The first replacement unit, after about 4 months use, suddenly started to reach thermostat temperature setting(70 deg.)and then keep on heating (as into the mid 80 deg. temp). I think it was dangerous so back it went. The second replacement worked for about 2 months and then just stopped heating at all. So back it's going. The problem in each one has been, I'm sure, in the control unit. I'm getting tired of having to pay to send it back, and I am very, very disappointed to have had so much trouble. Maybe this time I'll have better luck.

Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
I have two- one purchased several years ago and one recently. One is in my basement office and it heats this up quickly on cold winter days. The other is in an unheated room off the kitchen where I tie flys for fishing. The low profile and rapid heatup are great. It has saved me from installing heating ducts into this room that is used for maybe 1-2 hours per day.
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
no noise, heats up quickly, safe for pets
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
The heater is everything reported to be. Very satisfied.
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
It serves the purpose but the temp. setting stops at 85 degree's.
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
Very good product for value.
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
Heater works great and is very quiet. The thermostat is a waste of time....it records the temperature at the heater and shuts it off before it can warm a room. The size is good and I would recommend it for extra heating purposes.

Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
We purchased 2 of the Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heaters (HZ-519) and we love them. They are indeed silent. They work great for heating a large room quickly. I like the digital display. It is easy to set it to the desired temperature and the heater maintains the temperature automatically. I was very concerned about safety when considering a space heater and I think these are very safe. They won't tip over. The back of the heater does not get hot. I would recommend this heater for large rooms. They are kind of long (maybe four feet long) so that needs to be considered.
Comments about Honeywell Low Profile Silent Comfort Heater (HZ-519):
Doesn't seem to heat our 10 x 10 room very well. This is a sun room, lots of windows, etc.
