Humidifiers
These are devices used for increasing the humidity (amount of water vapor in the air) of a room or building. In order to achieve the best indoor air quality possible, it is necessary to keep the humidity in the air controlled. In the winter months when heated air is often uncomfortably dry, this may mean using a humidifier. Indoor air that is too dry is detrimental to your body inside and out. Dry air feels cold and uncomfortable and dries out your skin and hair. Breathing dry air can cause nose bleeds, dry and scratchy throats and even contribute to respiratory infection. For allergy sufferers, dry air can irritate and exacerbate symptoms. Adding a humidifier when needed is not only kind to your body, but it is also kind to your wallet. As anyone who has visited the deep South in the summer can tell you, air with higher humidity feels warmer than dry air. Inside during the winter months, simply keeping the surrounding air moist makes the air feel warmer, allowing you to maintain a slightly lower heating temperature while still feeling comfortably warm. Humidifiers use simple processes to add moisture to the air. Cold mist units are filled with water, which is then absorbed through a large wick. Internal fans are used to move air over the wick, blowing moist air out of the unit. Alternatively, warm mist models heat the water to generate water vapor. Choose a properly sized humidifier for your application and look for differences in features: tank capacity (how often you will need to fill the unit), fan speeds, built-in humidistat, and other features.

Manufactured in the U.S. by Kaz Inc., Honeywell humidifiers are equipped with QuietCare technology, which helps each unit produce a 30% quieter sound output than other similar humidifiers. In addition, our Honeywell humidifier models use antimicrobial-treated filters to help curb the growth of harmful waterborne bacteria and prevent it from being released into the air.
For added humidity, bacteria control, and a little bit of warmth, choose an Enviracaire humidifier. Best for single rooms, these units produce germ-free moisture using ultraviolet germicidal light and steam vaporization. This is a great benefit for allergy- and asthma-sufferers, whose symptoms can often be aggravated by waterborne impurities that make their way into the air.
