I left my IQAir Pro-health on all the time because that is the only way it will work efficently. If you turn it on and off some of the filter will give out a sour smell. Also, do not replace any filters until the change signal for them turn RED. I made a mistake one time ordering the Hepa filter when the signal turned yellow and by the time the singal turned red the filter had sour smell. This pre-filter actually worked bacuase when I changed it, it was filled with dust. The only complaint is it was kind hard to replace it becuase it was at the bottom.

We purchased the IQ Air HealthPro Plus filter system about 4 years ago to address frequent allergy symptoms. We chose the IQ Air Plus system after doing some research, including less costly systems. The reviews were excellent, and it was rated for areas that would service our entire living area. The system has been running flawlessly for 4 years virtually non-stop. We are sure it has markedly improved the air quality in our home and we are very happy we made this decision.
The pre-filter is necessary for us as we have an active life and pets. This filter keeps the larger particulates out of the V-5 and HEPA filters to ensure they can do their job and their life is extended.
The change out of the filter is straight-forward; swing the arms away from the unit to lower and decompress the filter stack, which allows access to each of the filters. Once open, the change of the filter takes just a minute. Make sure everything is aligned, and then the arms swing up and compress all the filters so there is NO leakage around the filters. Reset the digital control to start tracking use of the new filter, and you are done. We periodically clean the bottom of the pre-filter intake that is exposed at the bottom. It does its job and stops pet hair which accumulates on the bottom, and it is easy to remove that material. We would strongly recommend the system and replacing this filter at recommended intervals (when the unit signals it is nearing the end of its life).
