The GC Series air purifier is compact and customized for specific gaseous contaminants and odors. Just like a professional gas mask, IQAir maximizes filter efficiency for different gases and odors by offering customized filter cartridges -- just choose the correct formula for your need. And while gas and odor control is a particular strength of these systems, the GC Series also offers excellent filtration efficiency for particles.
How It Works
Gas Cartridge Technology The GC Series uses four reusable filter cartridges to hold up to 17 lbs. of gas phase media. The cylindrical shape of these cartridges allows for optimum contact between the air and gas phase media, which ensure high removal efficiencies. The large surface area of the cartridges enables high air flow rates. Since IQAir gas filter cartridges are reusable, replacing them is not only economical, but also environmentally friendly.
High-Efficiency Particulate Filtration The particulate filtration GC units complements the gaseous filtration process by removing over 97% of particles before they can reach the gas phase media. This increases the efficiency and life of the media by preventing its pores from clogging. The GC units' overall filtration efficiency for particles is 97% at .3 microns. The post filter is electrostatically charged to trap particulate pollutants and microorganisms (bacteria and viruses).

Design
With its large fan motor, the IQ Air Multigas
system produces more clean air with less noise than conventional air
cleaners.
Unlike most air cleaners, which have the fan motor located after all filter
stages, IQ Air systems have the fan in the center, in-between its noise absorbing
filters.
All systems also feature a unique double-walled housing design to reduce sound
transmission.
Eight shock absorbers, which hold the fan ensure that vibration isn't transmitted
to the housing.
The results are impressive. IQ Air systems are suitable for even the most noise
sensitive environments and are virtually inaudible at the lowest fan speed
setting.
In addition, with the timer control function, the unit can be programmed to turn on only after a person has reached a deep slumber state.

Up to Six Fan Speed Settings
Most air cleaners provide only two or three fan speed
settings. You have to run the unit either on a quiet but ineffective
fan speed, or choose a more powerful, but noisy speed. Multi-gas
purifiers give you the choice of up to six fan speeds, allowing you
to select the ideal performance-to-sound ratio.
Integrated Timer
Each
air cleaner can be programmed to run automatically. Set the unit to
run during office hours or program it in your bedroom to go on after
you have reached deep slumber.
Remote Control
Each system comes with a remote control which allows
you to turn the unit on and off, select the fan speed and activate
the timer.

types in one filter cartridge. As a result, the whole cartridge has
to be replaced even if only one filter type is used up.
Large Filters
To minimize manufacturing cost, most air cleaners use
very little filter material. IQ Air uses commercial size filters that

Seal Design
The efficiency stated for most air cleaners is purely
theoretical. Internal leakage drastically reduces the actual efficiency
of most air cleaners.
IQ Air Multigas systems feature patented triple sealing technology. First,
a unique process ensures that the filter media is 100% sealed in the filter
frame. Second, our patented 3D UltraSeal ensures perfect sealing between filter
frame and housing. Third, individual seals on each housing module ensure an
air tight housing. As a result, these air purifiers have an actual system efficiency
which is higher than the theoretical efficiency of conventional air cleaners.

Fan
These air filters use the highest quality fan motor
available. The centrifugal, backward curved fan has an astonishing
700 cfm (1200 m3/h) rating. Because each fan is individually balanced
and uses steel ball bearings, it outlasts other fans by years.
No-Draft
Design
Most air cleaners return the air through a small outlet,
which creates annoying air drafts. These units are designed to avoid
drafts by evenly returning cleaned air through a large 320° vented
diffuser.

IQ Air GC Series Worth Every Penny!

When we sold our home we moved into an apartment until we could find a small town home or condo. When we first viewed the apartment, every thing was fine. The apartment's property management company was very accommodating once they learned that I suffer from asthma. Things were fine until a month later when the tenant downstairs moved out & a new chain smoking tenant moved in. I never realized that cigarette smoke would actually come up through the walls/floor of our apartment from downstairs!!! As you might imagine, it did not take long for me to become ill. So, here we were sleeping with the window open & a window fan pulling outside air through our bedroom just so I could sleep & breath each nite.
I started looking on the web for an air purifier thinking this would solve our problem. Thank God I came across great sites for asthma sufferers & learned a simple air purifier would not help me at all!!! Since cigarette smoke is a chemical, I needed an air purifier which would not only clean the "air" but would also take out any chemicals from the air. Thus my search led me to the IQ Air GC series. There were other air purifiers on the market which claimed they would also take chemicals out of the air however reviews of the units were only fair as far as cigarette smoke was concerned.
The IQ Air has 4 different cartridges for filtering in different ways the air of chemicals. It also has a prefilter to take particles out of the air before the air is filtered through the other cartridges. It all sounded good but the price of the unit shocked me. The fact that Sylvane had a 30 day money back guarantee helped make up my mind to order the unit. I knew if it did not work I would be able to return and get our money back.
When the unit arrived I wasn't over joyed because I really did not expect it to live up to the reviews it received. I thought for sure in a week I would be sending it right back. In two days time - I was surprised to actually be breathing in our apartment free and clear of any problems. JUST 2 DAYS... To me it was a miracle!!
If you suffer from asthma you understand the anxiety of not being able to breath the air that someone else finds OK to breath. My husband was not bothered by the cigarette smoke - it was killing me!! I can't explain all the teckie elements of this unit - I can tell you it is worth its weight in gold as far as good air to breath. It was worth every penny we spent & I am certain it is the reason my asthma has not progressed over time.
Please remember, not all air purifiers are created equal. We have since moved & I have taken the IQ Air with me wherever we went. It truly has saved my health. If you suffer from cigarette smoke please consider getting this unit, it will pay for itself over time from the money you will save from doctor visits & inhalers!!
