What are the main differences between the Austin Air models?
Austin Air purifiers come in two sizes: junior and standard. The standard units cover a larger area and have caster wheels. In addition, all sizes are available in one of three different types : the Healthmate, the Allergy Machine, and the Healthmate Plus (superblend HEPA/carbon filtration). The Austin Air Healthmate Air Purifier is by far the most popular and best unit for most applications. The Austin Air Allergy Machine Air Purifier is best for customers who have issues with tobacco smoke or need an air cleaner that is lighter in weight. The Austin Air Healthmate Plus Air Purifier is preferred if a customer needs extra filtration to remove airborne chemicals. How many filters do you have to replace with an Austin air purifier?
The metal grille on the outside of an Austin air purifier acts as a basic pre-filter. However, inside the units is high-quality HEPA/carbon combination filter with a thin pre-filter wrapped around it. This filter cartridge is often times considered one very large filter and is typically changed at one time. Sylvane sells the thin pre-filter separately in case it gets wet, tears, or for some other reason needs to be changed separately from the main HEPA/carbon filter. However, this should not be typical. In the end, most customers find that they simply replace one filter approximately every 4 to 5 years.
What is the most popular Austin Air purifier color?
The most popular color is sandstone, which is a light tan/grey color that matches many interiors.
Do Austin air purifiers give off any ozone?
Austin Air air purifiers are traditional HEPA-filtered air cleaners that emit no or negligible ozone.
