This will NOT cool your room. It will fool you into feeling cooler, but it's very temporary. A fan is easier to maintain and give you the same effect. The fan blades came loose after a week of use. Disappointed.

I've had this air cooler for four months now and so far it's been the best thing I've purchased all year. Since June I've had this cooler pretty much on full blast all day long on medium to high speed and it's been doing a wonderful job of keeping my bedroom comfortable. Because of frequent use and hard water in the water I noticed some limescale/calcium buildup but this was easily remedied with some distilled vinegar. I find that cleaning it once a month keeps it running smoothly. My only gripe is that it can be heard and it's not silent, but it operates as loud as any type of household fan or AC would anyway. I've recommended this to all of my friends already.

Yes, you can add ice cubes to the water reservoir. This will enhance the unit's cooling effect in high temperatures. Alternatively, you can use the optional ice pack (included) for added cooling. Simply freeze it and place it in one of the water tank's chambers. It will last approximately 4 hours before melting.
