We replaced a normal tower fan in our bedroom with this unit less than a month ago, and it's worked incredibly well. The evaporative/humidifier function really helps cool the room a lot more than a normal fan ever did. We're at a a high elevation so the air is relatively dry. The added moisture from this unit makes a big difference. The oscillation is nice too - it has a much bigger range than other similar tower units.

Outside of normal function, this unit just looks really cool. We had one a while ago that was just a total eyesore. Not this one.
