This little vacuum is well worth the money. We bought it to use on our hardwood floors with our dog. It's almost like a magnet, you can see hair pulling towards the vacuum from all directions. It is definitely what we hoped for and more.

I also have a Miele Callisto canister vac but don't always feel like dragging it out for quick clean ups. The S194 is a perfect choice for shorter cleaning sessions. I use the Parquet Twister attachment that came with my canister to do the hardwood floors and it works great.
