Evaporative Coolers vs. Traditional Air Conditioners

While refrigerant air conditioners use harmful chemicals during the cooling process, Port-A-Cool evaporative coolers use only water and electricity. Every minute, up to 9,600 cubic feet of hot air is drawn into the evaporative cooler and passes through an evaporative cooling pad. When the moving air is brought into contact with the water-saturated pad, evaporation occurs as the heat from the hot air causes the water molecules to transform into a gas. The evaporative cooling pad absorbs the heat out of the air and the powerful fan disperses cool air throughout your space.

Traditional air conditioners often recirculate the same stale air, creating a stuffy, uncomfortable environment. The Port-A-Cool 36-Inch Evaporative Cooler drives out warm air and delivers a constant supply of fresh air. When the swamp cooler is positioned properly, the fan exhausts the hot, dry air through the back of the unit. Place the evaporative cooler away from walls, windows, or any obstruction to provide ample space for air movement.

Manual or Continual Water Refill

Replenishing the water tank is a breeze with the easily accessible water cap located on the side of the unit. To refill the water tank manually, simply open the filler cap on the front side of the swamp cooler and pour water into unit. Use the water level sight tube to monitor the amount of water in the tank to avoid overfilling it.

You can also connect a water hose to the hose connection for continual water supply. First, secure the evaporative cooler on level ground. Then attach a garden hose to the adapter on the side of the unit. Once you have secured the hose connection, turn on the water supply to begin filling. The water tank holds up to 32 gallons of water for longer operation.

In the highest setting, the Port-A-Cool swamp cooler pulls in 9,600 cubic feet of air per minute at 33.1 decibels. The medium fan speed processes 6,600 cubic feet of air every minute at 25.6 decibels and the lowest setting processes 4,800 cubic feet of air at 21 decibels.
