Product Overview
Solve your crawl space humidity issues for good with the Santa Fe Advance dehumidifier. This American-made unit shares the same efficiency and reliability features as the upright Santa Fe units. The only real difference lies in the Advance’s unique low-profile design, which allows it to be conveniently placed inside height-restricted spaces. It’s perfect for low-clearance crawl spaces.
Under ideal conditions, the Santa Fe Advance dehumidifies spaces as large as 2,200 sq. ft. Under AHAM conditions (80 degrees F, 60% relative humidity), it eliminates 90 pints of moisture per day. At 100% relative humidity – also known as saturation – the Advance removes 180 pints of moisture per day. Please note that when it comes to dehumidifying large spaces, it is best to get a consultation for your specific environment and needs. Please call our product experts at (800) 934-9194 for a free product consultation and recommendation.
This Santa Fe dehumidifier is ultra-reliable and comes with everything you need to start eliminating excess moisture from the air. The package includes:
- Unit
- Pre-Filter
- MERV-11 Filter
- 4 Removable Legs
- 10-ft. Power Cord
- 8-ft. Drain Hose
- Owner’s Manual
- Registration Card
- Free Mail-In For Digital Humidity Gauge (Included with Purchase)
This unit is model# 4029800, which replaces model# 4025699.
How It Works
The Santa Fe Advance crawl space dehumidifier uses a refrigeration system to remove moisture from incoming air. Air is pulled into the unit through an inlet located on one end of its housing and cooled to below its dew point as it passes across an evaporator coil. As a result of this cooling process, moisture is condensed into a liquid and directed into the drain hose, where it can be deposited into a nearby drain using the force of gravity. Once the incoming air is cooled and dehumidified, it is used to pre-cool the next incoming air stream. This pre-cooling process increases the unit's efficiency by as much as 200%. Following the pre-cooling stage, processed air is reheated as it passes over a condenser coil and discharged back into your environment using the outlet located on the top of the unit.
This unit now uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R-410A in its refrigeration system. This type of refrigerant will not contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer and is generally more reliable overtime than the previous R-22 refrigerant.
Multiple Installation Options
The unique, horizontal design of the Advance unit offers you several options for installation. You can place it in a finished basement, an unfinished basement, or in your home’s crawl space on open ground. With such a small physical profile, you can easily install the unit wherever you need. If you choose to place the Advance on open dirt or earth, it is best to first lay plastic down across the whole surface area and seal all outside vents. This will provide additional moisture insulation for your space and allow the system to work even more effectively. For even greater installation flexibility, the unit comes with four removable legs that can be adjusted to level the machine in your space.

Operating Temperature and HumidityThis Santa Fe crawl space dehumidifier is designed to run efficiently in temperatures between 55 degrees F and 95 degrees F. This is the typical temperature range found in basements and crawl spaces. When appropriately sized, the Advance will maintain the EPA-recommended relative humidity of 45% to 50%—the ideal conditions for a dry, odor-free, and allergen-free living and storage space. |
Special Features
The Santa Fe Advance dehumidifier stands far above its competitors when it comes to the amount of water it can absorb from the air at the least cost to you. In addition, the unit comes with a number of specially designed features for better control and cleaner air:
- Separate Fan Control – A separate and dedicated fan control allows for continuous fan operation or operation only when the unit is actively removing moisture from the air.
- Humidity Control Knob – This function automatically maintains the humidity level that is ideal for your environment by cycling the unit on and off throughout the day.
- Washable Pre-Filter – This filter helps to capture large particles such as dust and mold spores and prevents them from being released back into the air.
- Fine Particle Filter – This MERV-11 filter captures particles as small as 1 micron and is especially effective in capturing mold. It should be changed every 6 months to a year, depending on how polluted it becomes.

Duct Kit OptionThis dehumidifier may be used in some applications where ducting is required. For example, when using the Advance as a basement dehumidifier, you may want to hide the unit away in a storage closet or other remote area and run ductwork to and from a space or multiple spaces. This helps to increase air circulation to your space(s). Alternatively, you can choose to remove moist air from one room and discharge dry air into an alternate room, if desired. For both of these applications, Santa Fe offers an optional duct collar kit accessory (Part # 4026055). |
Condensate Pump Kit Option
The Santa Fe Advance is equipped to drain collected moisture using only the force of gravity. However, sometimes, gravity drainage is not possible. For these circumstances, a condensation pump kit is available as an accessory (Part #4025845). This gives you the option of running the drain hose upward and out of a window or through a doorway to your yard or garden. These pumps are energy-efficient and work with a flow switch that directs the pump to run only when needed.

Impressive Unit
Reviewed by: Thomas on 2009-03-10
I am using this unit to replace a LG dehumidifier that was slowly dieing after less than 2 years service. Over the last 10 years I have been through 3 off the shelf units from the local big box store. They all were noisy, prone to icing and inefficient.
This unit was shipped quickly by a local freight service and carried right into my home. Upon arrival the first thing a I noticed was wow it's heavy duty. Removing the cowling revealed massive coils much like those in a central AC unit and a monster fan (squirrel cage style) similar to the blower in a forced air furnace. No comparison to the chintzy blade fan and single coil of my old unit.
This is being used in a 1200 Sq foot basement. We live right on the shore of lake Michigan in a 130 year old house with a cream city brick basement. The basement has no drain tile system or sump pump so it is damp and mildewy without de-humidification. The old cheap units would run 24/7 to keep up. This unit has been running much less and should result in some savings on the energy bill. It runs much quieter as well. My old unit had a tendency to ice up once in a while but the Santa Fe has a defrost mode to deal with this situation.
I know the $129 cheapo units are tempting, but if I had bought this 10 years ago I'd be money ahead. I have plans to buy another for a crawl space under our summer home.
