    What is the difference between the Santa Fe Compact's standard MERV-8 filter and the upgraded MERV-11 filter?
    The difference lies mainly in the size and amount of airborne particles the filter can capture. The standard MERV-8 filter is rated to remove 70% of airborne allergens and particles measuring from 3 to 10 microns in size, the typical size of mold spores, pollen, and hair. The upgraded MERV-11 filter is more effective in removing the same size particles as the MERV-8 filter and it can also capture smaller particles. MERV-11 filters are rated to remove 85% of particles that measure from 3 to 10 microns and 65 to 80% of particles measuring from 1 to 3 microns, the typical size of dust particles. A MERV-11 filter will remove more allergens and particles out of your air and better protect the Santa Fe Compact's internal components.
