I live in an area where a marsh used to exist, so my basement gets very moist especially in the summer time. I was constantly worrying about storing anything down there due to mold, etc. I installed this unit last summer and felt a drying effect almost immediately, definitely within a day or two. I didn't have a humidity guage when I installed it, but I could just tell. I have a small one now and my humidity is around 50% with the unit not on it's highest/dryest setting.

I don't worry anymore about mold. The unit is quiet enough. I can hear it in the room above when it is suspended but it's not bothersome. I haven't noticed a large increase in my electric bill either.

The only con here has more to do with my basement than the unit. I had to order the suspension cables so that we could feed the drainage tube into our washing machine drain. I would love to put the unit in a different part of our basement where it tends to be a little more wet, but this situation works fine and it's out of the way since it's suspended off of the floor.

This optional kit is great for supporting the unit up in the ceiling. It get's the unit out of the way and provides excellent gravity drainage for the water. I would recommend this product.

The hanger was a sure hit yet unfortunately my situation did not require it. I returned it to Sylvane and their customer service was unbeatable. They processed my return quickly and professionally.

Can't complain about the hang kit. It sucks the unit right up between the floor joists. My only issues is the unit had a dent in the bottom keeping one of the screws that connects the unit to the cross member from connecting. I hung it w/o the screw (seems to be fine)

I purchased a Sante Fe Compact dehumidifier for the crawl space of my home.
Headroom is very limited, and I wanted the dehumidifier elevated for drainage purposes.
The hang kit is extremely well made of high quality materials, and it simplified an otherwise more difficult installation. I highly recommend both the Sante Fe Compact and the Hang Kit for same.

The Santa Fe Compact discharges an amazing amount of water.

Easy install, easy adjustment to level it, the rubber straps decouple the fan noise from the joists. Smart, simple design, well worth the money in the time and floor space it saves you. Nice job design team.

Everything was simple and easy to understand and accomplish. Placing the unit on the hang kit while in the confinement of a crawlspace was the only challenge.

I rated this product three stars due to the rubber bands holding this small, but heavy unit. I did not feel comfortable hanging it from the rafters. The product may be fine, but for me, I would prefer it having 100% metal and not made of rubber.
