More Product Information
Product Overview
This high-capactiy American-made unit (model # 4025081) is ideal for very large basements or crawl spaces. Because of its low-height profile it can easily fit into crawl spaces or unfinished/finished basements with ease. The unit's powerful design can, under ideal conditions, cover as much as 3500 square feet, eliminating over 135 pints per day at AHAM and 270 pints at saturation. To even try and meet the efficiency and performance of a single Santa Fe HC, you would have to purchase multiple off-the-shelf units—and multiple units would account for higher electrical costs. When it comes to either large spaces or low-height places, the HC model is a single investment that will solve your excess moisture problem and provide energy savings while doing it.
For moisture issues in large spaces it is best to get a consultation on your specific environment. Please call our product experts at (800) 934-9194 for a free recommendation.

How It Works
This ultra-efficient dehumidifier utilizes refrigeration to cool the incoming air stream below its dew point as it passes through the dehumidification (evaporator) coil. This cooling results in the removal of moisture (latent heat) and reduction of the temperature (sensible heat). The cooled and dried air is used to pre-cool the incoming air stream resulting in up to a 200% increase in overall efficiency. After the pre-cooling stage, the processed air is reheated by passing through the condenser coil. The latent heat removed by the evaporator coil is then returned to the air stream as sensible heat, resulting in an overall increase in temperature from the incoming air.
Designed To Fit Your Needs
The unique design of this system offers you several options, as you have the ability to place it in a finished basement, unfinished basement, or simply on open ground in a crawl space; with such a small physical profile, you can easily set the unit up wherever you need.
Temperature Operation
This Santa Fe system is designed to run efficiently in the low temperatures found in basements and crawl spaces. It can continue to remove humidity down to 55°F.
Humidity
When sized properly, this system will maintain the EPA recommended relative humidity of 45% to 50% — ideal conditions for an odor free, dry comfortable living and storage space. It has a humidity control knob that allows the unit to turn on and off automatically to maintain the humidity level that is ideal for your environment.
Special Features
This commercial-grade, ultra-efficient system stands far above its competitors when it comes to the amount of water it can absorb from the air at the least cost to you. It comes with a number of specially designed features:
- A separate fan control allows for continuous fan operation, or operation only when the unit is actively removing moisture from the air.
- A humidity control knob turns on and off automatically to maintain the ideal humidity level for your environment.
- This unit is able to work in low-temperature environments, down to 55°F.
- The gravity flow water drain is easy to set up.
- The unit has the option for ducting.
- A pleated air filter cleans the air entering the unit.
Filter
The Santa Fe has a standard filter that helps to reduce the amount of dirt and particles that can get into the machine. This filter should be changed between 6 months and a year, depending on how polluted it becomes.
Ducting
Ducting the Santa Fe allows you several options for using it in multiple spaces at any one time. It also allows you to hide your dehumidifier away in a storage space or place it wherever you need and run ducting to and from your space. There are several options available to configure the unit:
- Leave the unit unducted to work in an open space.
- Duct multiple rooms for air to flow simultaneously.
- Duct one room and have it to blow the air into the next room, or vice versa.
- Run ductwork to the far ends of a crawl space to force air circulation.
An optional remote dehumidistat can be purchased to use with this unit. It works very similarly to a thermostat for an air conditioner; it is activated when the moisture level in a separate space rises above a specific threshold.
Condensation Pump Option
If the gravity drain isn’t a possible option for eliminating the collected water, a condensation pump kit is available. This unit is easily adaptable to use a condensate pump, and this will give you the option of running the drain hose up and out a window or around a doorway to your yard or garden. These pumps are energy efficient as well and work with a float switch that allows the pump only to run when needed.

SantaFe HC crawl space dehumidifier
Reviewed by: Dennis on 2009-08-26
This thing turned our large crawl space from a mold-breeding moisture trap into a dry, conditioned space where the humidity never gets above 50%. Needless to say our mold problems are over, and there's no more odor in the basement.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone wishing to condition their crawl space to avoid mold problems. I was even able to install it myself, and I am definitely NOT the handyman type.
