Under ideal conditions, this Therma-Stor Santa Fe dehumidifier covers as much as 2,200 square feet, and in most applications, no assembly is required.

- Automatic Dehumidification – The Santa Fe Rx dehumidifies your space automatically. Simply set your desired humidity level and the dehumidifier will run continuously until your desired humidity level is reached.
- Internal Condensate Pump – The Santa Fe Rx's internal condensate pump automatically pumps collected moisture to a nearby drain or alternative location, providing near "set it and forget it" operation.
- Onboard Dehumidistat – The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier's onboard dehumidistat features positive On/Off settings and variable humidity control from 20 percent to 80 percent.
- Independent Blower Switch – An independent blower switch means you can configure the fan to run continuously without dehumidifier operation. This setting is often useful for air circulation and air filtration.
- MERV-11 Air Filtration – This dehumidifier is equipped with a standard MERV-11 pleated air filter, which is 65 percent efficient in removing air contaminants as small as 0.3 microns. Constant air filtration helps keep the Rx running at peak efficiency for longer periods of time.
- High Efficiency Operation – The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier removes 5.2 pints of water per kilowatt hour of electricity, making it up to 80 percent more efficient than comparable dehumidifiers.
- Quiet Operation – The Santa Fe Rx Whole House Dehumidifier is notably quieter during operation than comparable residential dehumidifiers. Therma-Stor product engineers made this possible by enhancing insulation inside of the dehumidifier and perfecting the airflow design to provide a long life of quiet performance.
How the Santa Fe Rx Works
The high-capacity Santa Fe Rx residential dehumidifier uses a refrigeration system to remove moisture from incoming air. Air is pulled into the unit through an inlet located on top of its housing and cooled to below its dew point as it passes across an evaporator coil. As a result of this cooling process, moisture is condensed into a liquid and directed into the drain hose, where it can be deposited into a nearby drain using the force of gravity or pumped to another location as high as 15 feet using the RX's internal condensate pump.
Once the incoming air is cooled and dehumidified, it is used to pre-cool the next incoming air stream. This pre-cooling process increases the Rx' efficiency by as much as 200 percent. Following the pre-cooling stage, processed air is reheated as it passes over a condenser coil and discharged back into your environment using dehumidifier's air outlet.
Optional Filter Upgrades
The Santa Fe RX Whole House Dehumidifier can be upgraded to include MERV-14, HEPA, and/or activated carbon filtration to help purify your indoor air. Adding the optional MERV-14 filter (sold separately) helps the unit capture 95 percent of particles and irritants sized at 0.1 microns and larger. When you add the optional HEPA filter (sold separately), the Rx dehumidifier filters out 99.97 percent of particles measuring 0.3 microns or larger, including mold, pollen, and other allergy triggers. Adding odor-absorbing activated carbon filtration (sold separately) helps remove odors, gases, and chemical traces from your indoor air. Please note that adding the optional HEPA or MERV-14 filters requires a one-time purchase of the optional filter housing.

Additionally, the Santa Fe Rx now uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R-410A in its refrigeration system. This type of refrigerant will not contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer and is generally more reliable overtime than the previous R-22 refrigerant.

Excellent high end dehumidifier. Quiet as advertised. Note it is much larger than a traditional cheaper dehumidifier. The carbon filter works great and keeps the mildew smell out of the rooms. Spend the extra money if you want top performance, quite sound, no mildew smell.
This is the second home for which I've purchased this unit. The other home was a converted barn which still had some residual odor and moisture in the basement -- not a good combination. From day one, this unit removed all the problems and kept the basement (which used to be stables) bone dry and odor-free. We actually ran a business out of the basement for eight years. We sold that house (left the unit with the new owners) and bought a new unit for our home (with a finished basement) on the ocean. On foggy days, the basement would be very damp. But not any more. It's dry as a bone. The unit is well designed, not obtrusive, and the internal pump is perfect -- we drilled a hole in the wood of the casement window and all water exits into the sand.
I purchased this to replace 2 cheaper ones we had running in our house. It has done a much better job than the ones we previously had and is much quieter, as well.
After being unable to keep the musty smell out of our basement with cheap dehumidifiers, we broke down and purchased the Santa Fe Rx. It's a little noisy, but other than that, it does a great job. The basement has never smelled so good. It proved especially helpful when our basement flooded 2 weeks after we made our purchase. It dried things out quickly and greatly minimized the damage.
It's a pricey machine, but well worth it. I wish I hadn't spent all that money on other dehumidifiers in the past.
