The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier is among the most efficient residential dehumidifiers on the market. This system is an effective and attractive way to dehumidify your home and prevent the growth of mold and mildew. Manufactured in the USA by Therma-Stor, the Santa Fe Rx is a free-standing dehumidifier that removes 74 pints of moisture per day at AHAM (80 degrees F, 60% relative humidity) and 148 pints of moisture at saturation (100% relative humidity). Under ideal conditions, it treats up to 2,200 square feet, and in most applications, no assembly is required.
The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier includes numerous design features to help make home dehumidifying easier, more effective, and worry-free.
Automatic Dehumidification – Simply set your desired humidity level and the dehumidifier will run intermittently to maintain your selected level.
Onboard Humidistat – An onboard humidistat features positive On/Off settings and variable humidity control from 20 percent to 80 percent.
Internal Condensate Pump – An internal condensate pump automatically pumps collected moisture to a nearby drain or alternative location, providing "set it and forget it" operation.
Independent Blower Switch – An independent blower switch means you can configure the fan to run continuously without dehumidifier operation. This setting is often useful for air circulation and air filtration.
MERV-11 Air Filtration – This dehumidifier is equipped with a standard MERV-11 pleated air filter, which is 65% efficient in removing air contaminants as small as 0.3 microns. Constant air filtration helps keep the Rx running at peak efficiency for longer periods of time.
High Efficiency Operation – The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier removes 5.2 pints of water per kilowatt hour of electricity, making it up to 80 percent more efficient than comparable dehumidifiers.
Quiet Operation – This system is notably quieter during operation than comparable residential dehumidifiers. Therma-Stor product engineers made this possible by enhancing insulation inside of the dehumidifier and perfecting the airflow design to provide a long life of quiet performance.
Blends Well with Any Decor - You'll appreciate this unit's clean white cabinet design with a sturdy metal top cover. Plus, you can customize the housing to suit your interior space by painting, adding paneling, or affixing wallpaper to the exterior.
How It Works
The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier uses a CFC-free refrigerant to draw in a stream of warm, humid air at the front of the unit and pass it through 1 of 2 evaporator coils. At this coil, the air temperature is cooled to below its dew point, condensing moisture in the process and dripping the water into the unit’s reservoir pan and hose for draining. Following this process, the now cooled and dried air passes through a second coil where it is reheated and blown out into the room or crawl space.
Customizable For Your Convenience
Out of the box, the Santa Fe Rx can be operated as a standalone dehumidifier simply by plugging it into a 115-volt outlet and routing the included drain hose to a nearby drain. However, with the purchase of a few accessories, you can customize your model to fit your exact needs.
Upgrade to Advanced Air Filtration
This model comes standard with a MERV-11 air filter that is 65% efficient in removing allergens and particles a small as 0.3 microns. But you can upgrade to a MERV-14, HEPA filter and/or an activated carbon filter to create cleaner indoor air. Adding the MERV-14 filter (sold separately) helps the system capture 95% of particles and irritants sized at 0.1 microns and larger. When you add the optional HEPA filter (sold separately), the Rx dehumidifier filters out 99.97 percent of particles measuring 0.3 microns or larger including mold, pollen, and other allergy triggers. Adding odor-absorbing activated carbon filtration (sold separately) helps remove odors, gases, and chemical traces from your indoor air. Please note that adding the optional HEPA or MERV-14 filters requires a one-time purchase of the optional filter housing.
Remote Humidity Monitoring
This dehumidifier is also compatible with Santa Fe's Crawl Space Alert Humidity Monitor, which provides 24-hour remote monitoring of conditions in the treated space.
Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifiers are Energy Star-rated, which means they are an energy-efficient choice for your space that is easier on your finances and better the environment. Energy Star dehumidifiers are constructed with more efficient compressors, fans, and refrigeration coils than conventional models. As a result, the Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier uses 15 percent less energy to dehumidify your space than comparable non-Energy Star dehumidifiers. Additionally, the Santa Fe Rx uses the eco-friendly refrigerant R-410A in its refrigeration system. This type of refrigerant will not contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer and is generally more reliable overtime than the previous R-22 refrigerant.
The Santa Fe Rx Dehumidifier is a highly efficient residential dehumidifier designed to prevent mold, mildew and moisture damage in areas throughout your home.
What Customers Love
Superior Efficiency - The Rx removes more moisture per kilowatt hour than many conventional residential dehumidifiers at the same or an even lower operating cost.
Reliable Long Life - Solid internal construction and a heavy-duty cabinet contribute to years of reliable moisture control.
Independent Fan Control - An independent fan switch allows you to run the fan continuously for better distribution of dehumidified air or only when the compressor is actively dehumidifying.
Things To Consider
Size - Measuring 37.5 inches high by 23 inches wide and 20 inches deep, the Rx is not compact. However, efficient operation, high capacity, and unbeaten reliability make it a great choice for long-term humidity control in large spaces.
Not Ductable - This model is not ductable unlike many other Santa Fe dehumidifiers. If you're looking for a ductable model that is has a similar size and design, consider the Santa Fe Classic.
