Normally do not write reviews....good or bad. But I have to comment on this Danby dehumidifier. I have gone through and been buying dehumidifiers for over 20 years. I did my research this time and by others writing reviews convinced me to try this product. I'm so glad I did. I Love the features and my finished basement area has never been drier. It's amazing and I like the fact that the fan in the unit runs constantly when on, even when it's not actually removing humidity from the air.
This circulates the air and keeps the area even drier. It's fairly quiet (for a dehumidifier) and has easy to use digital features. If this unit proves to have a longer life span than most dehumidifiers I have had in the past.(most malfunctioned after a year or so). The quality looks great and I high hopes it will last longer than most. Time will tell. If so, I will never buy any other brand other than Danby again. Here's hoping!

When my 3 year old Soleus died, my research pointed me to the Danby DDR45E Dehumidifier. I liked the humidity and temp digital readouts and the ease of use. The two issues I had were 1) the compressor and fan were too loud in the basement where we used it and 2) when removing the tank to be emptied, a stream of water ran down the back inside and down onto the bottom and table (about 1/2 pint).
The Danby did an excellent job of water removal, just couldn't adjust to the noise level and the water draining after the tank was removed and returned it.

After one week of operation this Dehumidifer has become very noisy. I have placed unit on 1/2" foam pad to try and reduce noise - did not help.
Can NOT recommend this unit.

We are very happy with this dehumidifier. Our new apartment is in a very humid location and our bathroom was never dry. With this Danby dehumidifier, our towels now dry every day and we haven't had any mold or mildew buildup in the shower. We are very happy with this product! We use the timer on the dehumidifier and set it for just 1 hour after each shower and the bathroom stays dry all day!

I have within the last month purchased two of your dehumidifers. The 70 pint and the 31 pint capacity ones. Never have I been happier with a dehumidifer. I use them for a ground floor office and they are great at keeping musty smell at bay and are so quiet. Would buy another in a moment and recommend them to anyone.

So far, so good, no problems. I did oversize the unit substantially, for the size of the room (143 sf) due to the extreme moisture in that specific area, and the unit is doing exactly what i needed. I might have been able to use the next size smaller unit, but the overkill was worth it to me. Good product.

I ordered on line and it arrived in 2 days. For a week I did not hook up continuous flow just to see how much moisture it was taking out of my storage basement(about 800 sq.feet.) I had to empty it every 24-30 hours so I knew it was doing its job. Now it is on continuous into my sump pump. Working great!
