Hi, I purchased this humidifier because I was tired of paying 10.00 a week for filters for my cool mist unit, and I was tired of listening to the humm of the machine. I figured that by the time I was done buying filters for the winter, that the cost would buy this humidifier.

I am very happy with this unit. It is whisper quiet on the low setting (gets a little bubbly on the high) but I found that the low setting is just fine for my 1,000 square feet downstairs, and the tanks only needs water every other day. If you are looking for a warm mist humidifier I would highly recommend buying this unit... also had fast ground shipping came in 3 days.

The product had an issue. On the higher setting after 6 seconds the red light would come on either meaning the tanks are empty or the unit needs cleaning. I just received the unit and this was the first time using so it could not have been dirty and the tanks were full. A friend of mine who has had a larger model of the same product investigated all possibilities of solving the problem but with no success (we even followed the cleaning instructions just in case.) Needless to say I was not satisfied and the product is in route back to Sylvane for a credit. The item cannot be replaced as it has been discontinued - not surprising! As a result I have returned to a local store and bought another brand.
Customer service was very helpful though when going through the return process.

I now have six of these units which were bought over a period of ten years.We find the units very effective and easy to maintain.
The tap water in our area causes some problems by leaving a deposit of salt on each of the units which can be a nuisance to remove but for the most part the extra work is worth the time spent.

I've had the Enviracaire EWM-350 for about 1 month now. I've since learned it's discontinued and that's unfortunate, because it truly is awesome for how much water overall it can store, with it's two canisters. It runs great and most of all, does what it advertises strongest the best. It really does kill over 99% of germs with the UV light.

My old humidifier would leave mold in the walls of the room I was running it in after continuous use. This has been a non-issue with the EWM-350. The only drawback probably doesn't pertain to everybody, but does to me. If your tap water is exceptionally hard, you may have to clean out the reservoir with white vinegar every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. It's not that much work, but when you consider all the other benefits of it, it's worth it to me.

I've have used this model for MANY years (over 10) and have been very satisfied with its performance. [I've had other brands too but they didn't give out enough vapor, even on high. Being smaller they had to be refilled much more often too.) I had a water container crack once during use but it was replaced. One of the electrodes will get red material on it after months of use. I wipe it off and the humidifier goes on working just fine. My husband and I suffer from dry skin and dry, bloody noses in winter; we couldn't live without this humidifier. This product usually lasts 2 or 3 years [or more, in my case] if cleaned as instructed. Replace the filters too. White vinegar works well as a cleaner.
