This is not a small unit. Nor is it very quiet. But it's a great dehumidifier and works like a charm in our large basement. I've tried smaller, cheaper units purchased from the local hardware store. Based on my experience so far with the Sante Fe Classic, I won't be going back.

This is my second Santa Fe. The first one, Sahara, lasted 15 years without a problem. It keeps my lower level,2200 square feet, at 40 % humidity and does a great job. Highly recommend the product.

Bought this product 4 years ago to reduce basement humidity. Product has worked great until recently when it stopped dehumidifying. Product comes with a 1 year parts/labor and a 5 year parts warranty. Called Therma-Stor and they believe there's a freon leak.

Therma-Stor does not have an authorized service company for their products and could not recommend one. They stated I could ship this back on a pallet to WI at my expense. Total estimated shipping and repair costs would be ~$600. Alternatively I could try to find an HVAC company to diagnose issue, Therma-Stor would send parts, and then HVAC company would need to return to install. If problem persisted, additional parts, additional HVAC service calls. I bought this premium unit with expectation that it would outlast the plastic dehumidifiers sold at big box stores at a fifth (or less) of the price I paid - unfortunately I was mistaken.

My 2.5 year old Santa Fe Classic, purchased new, now has a failing evap. coil and leaking blower motor. The cost to repair nearly the same as purchase price. Be careful-poor long-term performance. I will never purchase another Santa Fe product.

This dehumidifier is terrific and we have connected it directly into our sump pump so needs no emptying. The basement has already gotten less musty!

I purchased the Santa Fe Classic Dehumidifier after it was recommended to me by a representative of a major company that specializes in the installation of drain tile systems to prevent water infiltration in basements. This representative offered me a consultation about the humidity in my basement as well as the occasional water coming up through the ground.

I had spent a lot of money over the past several years with residential dehumidifiers which broke down within a year or two after purchase. Additionally, I was searching for a dehumidifier that I would not have to empty every day or so. This dehumidifier was the answer to my problem. Within just a short time of its installation, the humidity in our basement was reduced exponentially. I could not believe how dry it made our basement feel.

My wife even said that it was so dry in the basement that it felt to her like any other room in the house rather than what you would expect a basement to feel like. I was so impressed with the performance of this product that I actually purchased another one for my Mother. My Mother's basement has even more humidity issues than my home's basement. I would obviously have never made such a major investment in a product “ twice - that I did not believe had the capacity to do what I needed it to do for both me and my family and my Mother.

I highly recommend this product to anyone who has been continually disappointed year in and year out with those residential dehumidifiers that the big box stores sell and who really needs a product that does the job. This product has incredible capacity and you will not be disappointed by it.

We bought this unit to put in a new house we're building. Before it was finished, our current house had a musty smell and my wife and kids were getting sick constantly. As soon as they'd get better, they turn right around and get sick again.

I had three (3) smaller dehumidifiers in the basement, two were running and one was burned out. I installed this in the basement and within 1 hour this thing was cranking out the water. Within 4 hours you could smell the improvement in the house. Within 2 days, the musty odor was gone and everyone generally felt better and even looked better.

This thing is the real deal. If you are serious about eliminating dampness (and all the nasty stuff associated with it) in your living space, do yourself a favor, drop the coin for this baby and never look back.

The Santa Fe Classic was the answer to a wet basement problem I have had for about 5 years, and it took less than a week to remidy.
