Purchased this unit to replace an old Kenmore that died. Located in basement of old house - stone foundation. About 200 ish square feet. Without dehumidification averages about 80% relative humidity measured with hygrometer...Read complete review
Purchased this unit to replace an old Kenmore that died. Located in basement of old house - stone foundation. About 200 ish square feet. Without dehumidification averages about 80% relative humidity measured with hygrometer. Kenmore would run continuously and keep it at about 60%. Soleus dropped humidity from 80% to 57% average in about a day and retains that level. Set to continuous on, but it does cycle off regularly when humidity level reached (I have it set at 50%.....the hygrometer is on the other side of the basement). Very quiet - can't hear it running when upstairs. Bought this unit rather than others, as I did not need a built in pump - I run this unit into a separate condensate pump. So far first 60 days is good and would buy again.

I have a very large and finished basement area that gets very humid and musky in the summer. Have a 45 pint unit that had not been cutting it. Purchased this bigger unit and right out if the box it read the Humity level at 15% higher than the other unit and a seperte gage that I have. I was told buy the company to run at continuous level for 24 hours and it would correct itself. It did not. I like the look, quiet run and effectiveness of the product, so I returned it for a new one. Same issue. I am done and very Dissapointed with the unit.

Primary use is basement of a 100+ year old home. Used all summer in high humidity. Relatively quiet & works amazingly well. People actually comment that my basement doesn't smell musty anymore!
We made 50 Mexican sugar skulls the day of hurricane Sandy & #1 instruction was "do not make on rainy or humid days". Well, I placed them in the basement with dehumidifier & they set perfectly!
I'm ridiculously happy with this dehumidifier!

Our last two dehumidifiers had shorter-than-expected lives, and also did not perform well in the early spring when the temperature in our base ment is less than 70 degrees F. So far, this Soleus model is performing as expected and as advertised. We will have to see how it does in the spring before giving it a perfect score.

This dehumidifier replaced our old one which wore out. It was very easy for us to set this appliance up to drain into our sump pump pit through a hose so that it doesn't need to be emptied daily (like our old one did). It is lighter than the one we had and much quieter.
Aside from the product itself I would like to recommend the company which had very helpful info on their website, shipped the product safely and more quickly than we anticipated, and has sent occasional but not intrusive comunication since we made our purchase.

Overall, very pleased with dehumdifier performance. Using to keep moisture out of finished basement; noticed a difference immediately and area smells fresher too! (cat litter box in basement) Can't comment on energy efficiency yet as have not rec'd 1st elec bill since using almost 24/7!

We purchased a forclosed home that had been left open with no AC/heat. The flooring was buckled in one area and the wonderful machice removed the buckle!! A friend recommended the machine and we could not be more pleased. We would highly recommend it to anyone with a moisture problem.

Very effective in drying out our basement. The automatic shut off is very convenient and reliable. It is sometimes difficult to remove the water collection pan as it sticks a little. Both sides of the pan must slide out straight otherwise it gets stuck.

Ihave a workshop in an basement area under my garage and the humidity levels are always high. This is the third humidifier I have tried to take care of the problem. And this is the first one that really works. It's very quiet compared to the previous two, I love the digital readouts and it simply works.
