This heater performs efficiently, doesn't take up much space,and though the front end of it cycles on and off through a somewhat hot phase, I don't have to worry about burning myself or the burning the house down with it. However, this is my second heater, my first I used last winter for six months and then it just stopped working. I didn't have a warranty with the first one, but this time around I'm glad I purchased a warranty, hopefully this second heater will last longer. Besides that, every else is excellent about it.

This is the third winter I've used my 308R and I loved it! Although my living room is an open floor plan, this heater still warmed it up quickly and without drying out the air.
Yesterday one of the wheels fell off. The heater was cool and unplugged. I laid it on its side to replace the wheel (how else would one replace a wheel on the BOTTOM of a unit?). After that, it wouldn't turn on. I called the toll free number on the back of the unit and talked with a representative. I told him what happened and he told me that it is not recommended to lay the unit down. I reviewed the owner's manual that came with the heater. I found no place where it states this. The closest thing I found was it said not to tilt while OPERATING. Mine was in not operation. It had not yet been turned on that day.
The technician told me to wait four hours and turn the unit back on as it should reset itself. He said that if it doesn't, that means it will no longer operate. More than 24 hours later, the unit still will not turn on. Since the unit is past the one year warranty, he did not offer any other suggestions: no repair nothing. Not sure I will purchase another one. I consider this poor the fact that the manual did not say not to turn the unit over at all. I'm rating this as average due solely due to inadequate information in the owner's manual.

I got one last winter for my bathroom and could not be more satisfied. The next year I turned it on and it worked few days and just quit. I called and they gave me a new one for $12, and it has worked all this winter. I could not be more satisfied when it works. The thermostat is the best part. Just bought a $30 dollar cheaper one and it is great, but has no thermostat. 400 watts or 800 watts until I turn it off.

This heater is in our 12x18 master bedroom, and it is so easy to use with the remote - a must have with any heater if you want total comfort without getting up to adjust things.
It hangs on the wall about 3 1/2 feet off the floor. All night we are so warm, I took the electric blanket off the bed, great because the wires are not comfortable to sleep with. Warms up the room before bedtime, keeps the chill out when the cats are dozing in the room. It lets us leave the house heat down to 67 ALL DAY because we have a heater in the living space and used to turn up the house heat to warm the bedroom before turning in.
Towards morning sometimes I get a chill, and I just hit the remote to warm things, then turn it off when the room is perfectly warmed. This way, the dogs don't get too hot as happened when I had to turn up the electric blanket. I am glad I researched models before settling on this one, I definitely got the best one out there!

Purchased 1st one, it had something loose and rolling around inside, sent it back got second one. Set to lowest setting which is 59 degrees, would not shut off, was 85 in room, sent it back and got the third one. Set at 59 degrees room stays at about 66, but I will keep this one because I need to keep room at a good temp.

This space heater worked fine for 6 months, then quit working. Customer service was not helpful. Other, less expensive space heaters I have purchased have lasted years with no problems. I am very unhappy with this product.

This electric heater works better than I had hoped. I live alone and, in order to save money on gas this winter (I have a gas furnace), I decided to look into electric heaters. After reading about the micathermic heater technology, I ordered this one for my bedroom. The bedroom is upstairs where there are no heat ducts! I have to hope enough heat drifts up the stairs to keep me warm. I also have an office upstairs where I work during the day, and I wanted to be able to move the electric heater between the two rooms with little effort. This heater is so easy to move and is so lightweight and easy to pick up (has a 'handle'). Also, it heats a room up very quickly (I close the door to the room). And, based on my calculations, it costs me about 9 cents per hour to run. So during the day it heats my office where I do my work, and at night it heats my bedroom. Problem solved! And what a savings! I can keep my thermostat down at night. I was so impressed with the Soleus product that I have ordered another Soleus heater for my living room. I sit there in the evenings to read, watch TV, etc. It is an open room to the rest of the downstairs, so I ordered another model/type of heater that gives direct heat to a small area within a big room and is low wattage. I am very pleased with it all. And my furnace can be set at 60 degrees while I am toasty warm and saving money.
